“I’m not afraid…” she didn’t think she was at least. “I want to start training again, I think I can do it this time.”

“So I’ve heard,” Tim said cautiously, worried he would say the wrong thing and discourage his daughter instead of encourage her. “I’m proud of you.. I just- I thought you’d come to me.”

“Would you like a palm reading?” Morgan asked, sitting at their table. They offered a large smile. “I promise it will be worth your time and your money, of course.”

“Sure.” Tim didn’t really believe in things like palm readings. In fact he was personally pretty convinced it was all completely made up. But he supported his friend’s children regardless, and he was willing to spare some money for Morgan to get to do what she loved. “How much does it cost.”

“people were starting to worry you’d gone out of your elixir or life, so i was selected to bring you this,” he comments, placing the large ⏤ it had to be a special size made just for his uncle ⏤ cup of coffee in front of the man. “you’re welcome.” he moved to take the free chair, rolling closer to the screens. “what are you working on? some impossible exam for your poor students?” [ @redbiiird ]

Tim was running dangerously low on on Coffee, so he gladly accept the drink from his nephew. “Thank you, Mateo,” Tim said between sips of his fresh coffee. Tim rubbed his eyes out of exhaustion. even the coffee didn’t seem to have much effect when he was this tired. “I’m working on something for class, yes. Though I want you to know that my exams are not impossible, and I’m actually very nice to my students.”

            jeannie isn’t the epitome of the christmas spirit ; but she’s always willing to be dragged out by the rest of the family.   it doesn’t hurt that the aesthetic of the annual christmas market had the same warmth as usual.    and the local chocolatier still made the best hot chocolate known to mankind.      ‘   so how’s your christmas shopping going ? ‘   she asks over the edge of paper cup, the upturning of lips visible through the rising steam.    ‘ or is it just going to be another round of stock-ings.’   [ @redbiiird ]

Tim couldn’t help laughing at his daughter’s joke, though he wasn’t sure if it was because he thought it was actually funny or if he just loved her so much that it was made funny to him. “It’s not just stocks, I can tell you that much,” Tim wouldn’t say anything more than that, he had always loved the surprise part of gift giving above anything else. “What about you?”

“Sooo, now that I got you all sweetened up, serious question,” though, Gar’s tone didn’t change from his normal upbeat nature. Indeed, even when serious subjects set upon the old teammates, Gar never lost his cheerful nature, “how would you feel about me training more serious with Birdie? Maybe even…. Getting her a place on the Teen Titans? I think she can handle it, but I wanted to check first.” [ @redbiiird ]

“Alright,” Tim responded without fear, after all there were only a few topics Gar would want to to talk about that Tim wouldn’t be up for. Then Gar asked his question and immediately Tim whole demeanor shifted, and he went from happy to undeniably uncomfortable instantly. “It’s not up to me,” he replied simply.

“If you were in Hogwarts, which house would you be sorted into?” Devyn had recently gotten into Harry Potter and she fell head over heels for it immediately. Now she asked anyone she could find about anything and everything with the series. “I’m definitely Hufflepuff, without a doubt.”

“The obvious answer that anyone else would give for me is Ravenclaw, but I’ve always thought of myself as more of a Gryffindor.” Tim had spent probably too much time considering this very question since his 20s.

Tim waited until things had somewhat calmed down, carefully and respectfully dodging everyone until everyone had dispersed and he would be able to have a moment alone with his little brother. All that Tim had done these past few months excluding trying and mostly failing to help care for his infant daughter was stew in grief. Let could’ves blend into should’ves and become would’ves; he’s worked through a million different conversations in his head, a million different ways just to tell Damian that he’s sorry. He has gone through similar conversations with his parents. Tim’s ability to overthink things is exactly what makes him a genius. Not that that genius ever seems to do much good for anyone around him; it didn’t help his mother and father and it barely ever helped Damian.  Jack and Janet Drake aren’t coming back though, Tim learned that the hard way, but Damian has; Tim can put at least some of his would’ves to bed here and now. The cavalry has gone home and Birdie’s been put to bed and Damian is right there in front of him and a million planned conversations have left Tim’s head as he wordlessly drags Damian into a hug, holding his baby brother tight. Tim strongly doubts that Damian will appreciate this particular gesture, but Tim isn’t even going to pretend that the hug is for Damian’s sake, it’s for Tim’s and Tim’s alone. “I’m sorry I didn’t do more to help you.”

Kon’s hand adjusts his shorts, then placing his hands on his hips after as his gaze looks over his husband. “If you’re drowning have no fear, I’ll be here to save you all night.” He says with a smirk before closing the distance between them. “So … can I get you a drink, handsome?” [ @redbiiird ]

It had been a long time since Tim had worn anything half as revealing as he was tonight and he wasn’t feeling to sure about this decision until he saw Kon looking him over. Tim smiled at Kon as he took the chance to get a good look at his husband. “The only thing I’m at risk of drowning in is your eyes,” he replied and then immediately laughed at himself. Tim wasn’t a master flirt sober, and he was already a few drinks in now, somewhere near the line of drunk enough to say anything and sober enough to know when he said something stupid. Tim rarely drank, so when he did he never quiet remembered his limit, or how fast he got drunk. “I think... maybe I should just have some water, beautiful.”

TIm’s costume isn’t any specific character, but between how far it is out of his comfort zone and the fact that he spent five hours relearning how to do his makeup, he doesn’t care.

“Lucky? I figured out most of the passwords you use years ago, which is really on you. You are the one that taught me to hack, Old Man,” Birdie teased, a smile on her face, feeling a sense of pride after successfully pranking her dad.

“Alright, so I’m adding another layer of security to my everything as we speak,” Tim wasn’t nearly as amused as his daughter was. Birdie was his daughter, and he didn’t care too much about her knowing his information, but he could already feel his blood pressure and his paranoia spiking at the thought of having that much vulnerability.

“Surprise bitch, thought you’d see the last of me?” Kon announces as he drops his bag on the ground, and pulls the sunglasses off to rest on the top of his head.

“Uh, no?” Tim replied dryly, but with a smile. “Someone called looking for you while you were gone,” Tim paused to turn and look at Kon. “It was 2013, they said they wanted their memes back.”

“I really thought you’d be more creative with your password, at least something less predictable than an important date that anyone who knows you could guess,” Birdie teased. Every few years, her and her dads got into a prank war, that admittedly had ended with someone in tears more than once, but they kept going back to it. Birdie had just so happened to have decided to begin the chaos this year.

Tim already had about a dozen ideas of the various ways he could prank his daughter back that he’d been saving up since their last prank war. “I rotate passcodes. I just felt like being lazy this week, you got lucky.”

“I should have known something like this would happen when I made your birthday my passcode,” Tim said with a warm smile and a shrug.
