Watch out Ao Bing and Nehza, a giant cloud that is Amaterasu Omikami looms over you two before she rolls over on her back. The two were consumed by the endless fluff.

The land beyond the fire rainbow these two had flown into is so beautiful in its foreignness, just like the islands below that Ao Bing and Ne Zha were exploring. Whoever owned this territory, Ao Bing thought, must be quite a powerful being indeed...He hoped whoever they were, they understood that the Chinese crested tern that accompanied him and his husband was a sign that they were here without intent to challenge.

Ne Zha isn't looking out for the territory's owner, while Ao Bing keeps a close watch. He's busy zooming about on his fire wheels, zipping from place to place in the landscape as he examines everything--the ground, the plants, even the views from above. While Ne Zha is preoccupied examining the peaches on a peach tree, Ao Bing standing next to him spots a rather unusual looking cloud through the branches....

"Zhazha," he says, putting a hand on his shoulder. But it's too late--his husband barely has time to look up before the two are CONSUMED.

"HEY!" Ne Zha yells, flailing around in the endless fluff (but still recalling his fire wheels--gods forbid he set her on fire).

"You didn't even see her coming," Ao Bing teases. "You were fair game~"

I watched Ne Zha 2 in theaters for the last time I was able today before it will leave my area...It was a beautiful experience, though it also felt like saying goodbye to an old friend.

By some miracle I managed to snag another viewing, which I'm sure will be my last this time...The last line of the final credits song said something along the lines of "every meeting is a fated tale" and I honestly couldn't think of a better way to end my long stretch of seeing my new favorite film in theaters. I feel like it was fate that brought me to Ne Zha. For a long time, I was a self-hater of my Chinese culture because I knew no one else in America would ever have the same passion for it that I did and I couldn't even admit it to myself because I knew I used to be the Chinese pride person. But it was singlehandedly this movie that restored my love of my Chinese heritage--seeing something Chinese be cool and beautiful and so widely loved led me back to myself.

Thank you, Ne Zha 2. Even though my hyperfixation on you may wax and wane, I will always remember what I owe you.
