Request: “Prompt for Reddie owning a cat together” for anon Pairing: Richie Tozier/Eddie Kaspbrak A/N: I owe whoever requested this a HUGE apology because you requested this when the account was fairly new and here I am, nearly 4 years later finally posting this. My bad!!

- Both Richie and Eddie were usually dog people, but when the option to adopt a kitten arose, they took it in a heartbeat. - Well, Richie did. Eddie was hesitant but really had no choice one Richie set his eyes on their cat. - Richie INSISTS he names it. - They end up with a cat named Spaghetti. - Eddie HATES the name but loves how happy it makes Richie, so he goes with it. - She’s a gorgeous ragdoll cat and sheds absolutely everywhere. - Richie wants to take her for walks, and doesn’t understand why Eddie thinks that’s a bad idea. - Eddie is constantly SUPER concerned for it’s health. Has she had her shots? Should she really be eating this brand of food? Should she be sleeping this much? Do I need to take her to the vet? - That being said in the first month they had her, she was constantly in the vet, which racked them a pretty high bill. - Eventually Richie has enough and tells his boyfriend that their cat is in fact, just fine, and taking her to the vet is completely unnecessary. - It takes a long time but eventually Eddie listens. - And Richie was right. The cat was, in fact, just fine. - After that though things go smoothly. - They pamper their cat- she has her own padded bed and loads of loud, jingly toys. - As much as Eddie protested the cat, her loves her dearly. - When Richie isn’t looking, he will pick her up and dance with her, calling her pet names and talking to her like a baby. - When Eddie isn’t looking, Richie feeds her pizza crust and lets her sit in the bathroom sink while he showers. - Spaghetti gets into the habit of sleeping between the two, which annoys Richie a little bit because he can’t cuddle his Eddie Spaghetti. - The two own a dozen lint-rollers because they always have cat hair on them- Richie always whines if you’re able to see it on stage. - They give her loads of nicknames: “Ettie”, “Lil Eds” (Richie), “Pretty girl”, and “Baby” or “Pasta Baby”. - Richie always introduces her as their “first child” and is always insisting to Eddie that she’s “great practice for a real child”. - Eddie always argues with him about how a cat and a human child cannot be comparable. - Richie simply tells him he’s going to raise their first child to act like a cat and gets lectured for hours about how they don’t need a child that will hiss at them.
