Red Dwarf Episode Poll Masterpost

Hi all! Inspired by other blogs running polls to determine top/favorite episodes of particular TV shows, I thought I'd do the same for Red Dwarf!

Rules:

Each match-up will be randomly generated

Two- and three-parters will be included as single episodes, as will The Promised Land. The first round of the poll will have the (quite fitting) amount of 69 episodes

Rounds one and three, due to having uneven numbers of episodes, will each have one grouping of three*

Each round will have a masterpost, which will be linked in this post

Not wanting to clog up the Red Dwarf tag too much, only this post and the masterposts for each round will use that tag. The match-ups themselves will all be tagged as "rd episode poll."

Marooned: A flaming meteorite hit causes Starbug 1, with only Lister and Rimmer aboard, to career wildly into an arctic wilderness planet. The duo are alone, marooned in the stricken vessel, and with limited fuel and food supplies they face certain death if not discovered.

Thanks for the Memory: After a long night of drinking and partying to celebrate the anniversary of Rimmer's death, Rimmer laments that nobody loved him in life. Feeling sorry for Rimmer, Lister decides to implant memories of his ex-girlfriend in Rimmer's mind.

Me2: Rimmer moves into his new sleeping quarters with his holographic duplicate. Lister watches Rimmer's video containing footage of Rimmer's death. The two Rimmers start getting into a fight and Lister decides one of them has to be switched off.

Gunmen of the Apocalypse: Starbug is attacked by a Simulant battleship and infected with a virus which overrides it's navicomp. Lister, Rimmer and Cat use the AR machine to enter Kryten's mind, which has taken the form of the Wild West, in order to fight the virus.

Ah, I apologize, I should have been clearer! 😅

I was thinking of having a poll where each match up consisted of two "bits" or sustained jokes (more than just one-liners; the board game scene in Samsara or the Deja Vu exchange in Future Echoes, for example) and people could vote for which they liked most/found funnier. I'd create a form for people to submit ones they'd want to see in the poll- which is where deciding limits on how many submissions I'd take or when the deadline for submissions would be comes into play, since there are so many potential options lol

The End: On the mining ship Red Dwarf, slobbish slacker Dave Lister dreams of a life in Fiji away from his annoying bunkmate Arnold Rimmer. When he's placed in suspended animation, he wakes up 3 million years later to find the entire crew are dead.

Dimension Jump: Rimmer catches the crew going on a fishing trip without him, forcing them to reluctantly bring him along. However, Starbug collides with the ship of Ace Rimmer, a more popular and successful version of Rimmer from an alternate universe.

Parallel Universe: Holly creates a new star drive called "Holly Hop Drive" that will warp Red Dwarf from one part of space to another within a matter of seconds. It all goes wrong when Red Dwarf enters an alternate dimension; The crew encounter female versions of themselves and Cat encounters another version of himself, a dog with a southern accent.

Confidence and Paranoia: Venturing up to the Officer's Deck to feel closer to Kochanski, Lister is unaware that Rimmer has not yet de-contaminated the area, and catches a particularly virulent, 3-million-year-evolved strain of pneumonia. It's not long before he's hallucinating; and the hallucinations take on solid, physical form!
