Just pit Lewis first then Charles next lap. It would still have Charles be on P2 and still have both your cars have fresh tyres. That's the neutral choice. There's nothing "don't have much control over" about what was decided.

Everyone focusing on this brake info (and rightfully so) and not enough discussion about the fucking safety car pitstop?? I've never seen anything like that. Why would they do that?? Why would you make both your drivers take a 5 second penalty? Are they genuinely stupid or did they just not want to upset hamilton and did it on purpose to screw charles over? He did nothing wrong. He was miles faster in both stints, he caught up on pure pace. He made no mistakes (despite the brakes and his ers issue in the opening laps) he would've had the P2 for sure. And they didn't even tell him what was going on. They didn't even give him a chance for it. They had enough of a gap to box him the lap after Lewis when antonelli boxed and not screw him over by sitting for 5 seconds while hamilton served his penalty. It's the most insane thing I've seen.

(and no one seems to notice how he was screwed in strategy before all this when they took too long to box him at the first stint and he lost like 11 seconds - he was 2 seconds behind hamilton at the first pit stop, and they let him go through traffic before they boxed him and by the time he boxed he was 13 seconds behind - he then had to close that gap up himself - which he did. and no one picked up on the massive time he lost, but no matter. It appears that Ferrari were determined to repay his loyalty on the weekend he chose them again but fucking him over one way or another)

this!!! this move was worthy of 2025 midlaren and their fuckass papaya rules which state that if driver 1 is penalized they should penalize driver 2 even harder for the sake of ✨ equality ✨

the decision was stupid af and i hate that the shitty brake situation is taking attention away from ferrari's latest terrible decisions. i'm annoyed by how the long the pit stops have been lately but also how many double stacks will they force on charles this season fr? a double stack is never great but here in monaco it was even stupider for several reasons

1/ they risked charles getting a penalty for slowing down in the pitlane (the FIA told drivers they would get a penalty for that before the race)

2/ they forced a useless pit on him even though his tires were great because he had taken care of them to go longer, this decision was made without consulting him and he didn't want to do it

3/ they forced charles to serve a penalty that wasn't his to serve

i can't believe he wasn't even told about the penalty, it reminds me of montreal 2019 where ferrari did the exact same thing to charles when seb had a five sec penalty and didn't tell him, thus depriving him of the chance to fight for P2.
