If you want, you can call me Neko! Major ninja turtles fan! I adore 2012 turtles, but my interests lie with all the movies and series! I’ve basically seen them all! Have watched Mutant Mayhem and both seasons of Tales! Can’t wait for more!!
My favorite turtle depends on the brothers in question, but it’s usually between Raph and Donnie! My favorite sibling bond is usually Leo&Donnie, but, again, it depends! Ask whatever you like- I love chatting turtles!
For fun, here's a link to an ever-updated list of my favorite '12Leo&Donnie songs.
DISCLAIMER: I am TERRIBLE at responding to things, but I love asks! I swear! I promise that every single one is appreciated, and I definitely intend on getting around to it!
I do a lot here nowadays, so let me fill you in!
For common tags to organize posts, check the tags below!
For a better understanding of the categories:
I’m most popular for my analyses. I tend to throw out a few rants/interpretations/descriptions on unnoticed or misunderstood aspects of turtle iterations, mainly for the 2012 gang. These guys are extremely misunderstood creatures (See what I see TMNT).
I also do Incorrect TMNT Quotes for the fandom (incorrect tmnt quotes), Tumblr Turtle story clips (ImagionationStation’s Ficlets), I make Mini Music Videos (IS TMNT MMV), post some 2012 show moments and randomly compile a full episode from a single turtle’s POV (Show Clips), and I intend to document thoughts about other shows when I have the time to watch (Turtle Comparison Notes).
I have a tag for asks (IS Asks) and a tag specifically for AUs that get dropped off in my Ask box (AU Asks). Got an AU idea that you’d like explored? As long as it’s in my comfort zone, let’s do so together!
Speaking of AUs:
Once Upon A 2012Donnie Au: Masterpost
Wendybirds AU Asks: Masterpost
Feral Raphie AU Blog Link: Intro
Mismatched Twins Blog Link: Masterpost
Other places to find me:
I’m on A03 and Wattpad!
May not keep YouTube but it exists rn!
Watching tmnt1987 over here as @1987viewer!
I share a sideblog for AUs and the like: @bringingourrealitys2life
If I see a comic scene that makes my brain explode with emotions, I’m going to want to find it again. I collect them here. Feel free to browse and see if I stumble on any that aren’t wildly popular or have yet to become so: @strictlyturtlecomics
Quick Sidenote!
I understand that the turtles have their flaws. I acknowledge that I have my flaws. I do not need you to yell these facts at me.
I reserve the right to block haters that hate for the sake of hating. If you are not willing to chat negatives without passive aggressive behavior or an open mind, I will block without hesitation.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful turtleful life! 💚💚
When you're about to upload the next chapter, and then a voice in your head says "HEAR ME OUT" and you frantically double back because you finished that chapter months ago but the voice has already started talking and now you're going to need to completely revamp the first half of this chapter, scrap scenes you suddenly hate, and you're probably going to like the end result when it's done but why did it have to be this chapter. why now. couldn't this have occurred MONTHS ago
People really like to draw Donnie angry, sassy, or yelling at someone, but no one really draws him... There. He's usually being emotional in someone's background. Why don't we ever make him. Exist. The way he looks when he's just there. Mind flatlined, auto processing activated. You can knock him over with a brush of wind. No thoughts brain empty
Like. Like that one post. You guys know what I'm talking about right?
This popped up again in my recommendations, and I wondered if @imagionationstation had ever watched it because hooo boy... she may not like a certain result
All the Leo and Donnie tags... Let me guess its "They don't dramatically bond." "They just argue a lot." "Their only working dynamic is a team one and therefore they have no relationship" bare bones stuff assumption research?
i always fall for opening the comments section and then go ahhh right i forgot. the concept of nuance and non-universal experiences just doesn't exist to some people
I'm a bit in a TMNT mood lately (hello my old fandom!) , so let me share here this old art that I still love!
A bit of angst between the twins, they had some stuff to sort out after Leo came back from Costa Rica, and Donnie had to face all the pressure he went through during his absence.
(to be fair this was initially a fanart from a fanfic, but it also does fit my headcanon for post 2007-movie events!)
I love the reblog function for multiple reasons. One of them is that there's this person with really great tmnt takes, but they blocked me a long time ago. (Short version: I had a take they didn't like and I refused to give it up). But 2012 content is very slim, so I was disappointed to lose their content. Again, good stuff
I can't see most of their stuff, but if someone that I'm following reblogs it, then I get to take a peek too. And that's another reason why Tumblr reblogs rock
I have been wondering what would happen if the turtles grew up without a father figure? Who would take charge? Who would act out? How would they train with no guidance?
One of the things you pick up on when you watch the series is how many things that they have that subways don't have. That entire kitchen set-up? No way was that built into there!
In fact, in Lone Rat and Cubs, the place is basically sparse. So everything that's in there had to be manually brought in by Splinter for the sake of his sons (because they can't leave the lair, remember?). If this happens around the time that they're toddler/kids, like the fanart suggests, then the show says that they have (at least) a dojo put together. But it doesn't give the inclination that they have other things- like electricity, considering Splinter's lanterns need candles to glow and the lights over his shelf in the background don't glow. Popcorn isn't definitive either since Splinter could have snatched it from somewhere and Mikey is known for eating very, very old foods casually.
All that is to say that Donnie's either walking into a mostly furnished home that he needs to continue furnishing or a home that's furnished and will need consistent maintenance. Let's say they're anywhere between 5-9, for hypotheticals. Do you really think that any of his brothers are going to have ANY idea how to help him at 7 years old when they can barely understand his explanations at 15-18?
He's the genius of the family, so it's going to fall to him to make sure everything functions. There is a TON of headcanon that Donnie made Splinter let him help with things. If we go off that, he has some knowledge of how they're supposed to work already- but watching Daddy build something and building it yourself are two different things
Think of any home repair that needs doing, and who do you think is going to be the one who needs to figure it out- because he's the only one capable? They can't call anyone for stove issues or plumbing problems or repairing heaters that break down in the wintertime. That's going to be on him. EVERYTHING is going to be on him. His brothers continued survival will be on him because he has to pick up the slack for everything that they don't know.
With all the pressure that his brothers put on him when he's fifteen and has a dad, do you really think it's going to be any better when they're immature, ignorant children? Do you really think he's going to have time to be creative with his experiments or have any freedom to enjoy the parts of being a kid genius? They're going to expect him to know everything, and the dad who taught him isn't around to help anymore.
He lost his dad, his childhood, and his freedom all in one go.

It's actually very important to me that people use "implied/referenced child abuse" for 2012 because we should be constantly reminding each other that they are children. Even at 18 years, they're only about 4-5 years experienced to the world outside the sewers
These are children in many senses
When someone fights them or threatens them or hurts them- they're doing it to a child. We mustn't forget that
