Love in Colour
You look at me with colour,
And that, it leaves me full.
Of life, love and wonder,
Instead of grey and dull.

Love in Colour
You look at me with colour,
And that, it leaves me full.
Of life, love and wonder,
Instead of grey and dull.
Heart Eyes
Your eyes are windows,
Plucking at every heartstring,
With each time you blink.
*A haiku is a Japanese poem made up of three lines with a 5-7-5 syllable pattern.
The Worst of Lies
"In another universe" I told her,
Knowing there was no happy-ever-after.
Knowing that our days were slowly wilting.
"We are infinite." I claimed.
But her eyes rolled away into the night,
Where her moonlit tears could be at peace.
And my heart ached for the both of us
Because I couldn't be a saint nor saviour.
Faux Poet
I wasn't born to write poetry,
Yet if I don't get these words off my chest,
These thoughts out my throat,
They'll suffocate me.
But I wasn't born to write poetry,
And I'm not willing to die,
Under the weight of my mind.
Or the unspilt ink.
Lover's Maze
Your love's a maze,
I couldn't conquer,
Walls too high to climb.
Its twists and turns,
They left me sombre,
With words that wouldn't rhyme.
Fondness
I know there’s thoughts we left unsaid,
With words and texts just left unread.
But better days they lay ahead,
So look back fondly with love instead.
I know there’s days of heavy rain,
A backdrop to our love in vain.
When you and I began to wane.
Now memories cascade in pain.
Silence
The silence scares me most of all,
It creeps into my dreary day.
To suffocate from wall to wall,
In every room and every way.
Final Dance
Just like that, our minds danced one last time.
Our eyes waved off those final tears.
Our lips trembled to love’s closing song.
Our hearts skipped the beat of opportunity.
Our memories glistened in the setting sun.
Our souls straightened their sails.
Ready, I am
My heart leans forward from my chest, Ready I am to let you go, To see you bloom, flourish, and grow Somewhere our love can lay to rest,
You'll find your soul, your one true mate, A pair of lips to fall into A place for just the two of you And that's the way of stone-cold fate
New roots
And now I know where new love grows, In greener gardens where one sows. Beneath the branches, we entwine, A hollow place where our hearts whine.
Bottled up
I collapse into another glass,
My mind shatters over and over,
And in minutes, hours pass
Now I lay in despair, sober.
I retrace the steps to my demise,
When the moon is at its best,
Where the bottle is the vice,
Instead of speaking from the chest
I save myself for five days,
Then climb back into all my thoughts,
Before the tears and the haze,
When the clock strikes Saturday's noughts
Caress
My eyes lay heavy,
Against your shoulder blades,
For you I'm grateful.

I wish you it all
Eyes closed, I watch our lives entwine, A place where you should leave me be. Where tenderness and warmth align, Like roots beneath a cherry tree.
Your heart has found a new abode, A spot where love can make its nest, And joyous memories I forebode, When our moments can lay to rest.
I hope to see you blossom soon, You deserve the world I couldn't give, From here until the glowing moon, Is where fondness will always live.

Love Anew
I found a way to stop the clocks To turn back time and speak again, Before the waves crash with the rocks, And prose meets paper and the pen.
Just as farewells make their bed, And burdens free my panting chest, Yet blank is our chapter ahead, Before memories can lay to rest.

Lulled
I often watch the sky drift off, Before I open up my heart, And there I find some space to say All of my thoughts right from the start
The good, the bad, the not-so-bright, They cuddle up to cold heartache, And lul the sun into the night I watch on by and stay awake.

Waiting
I could wait for the doorbell to ring, I could wait for the sky to turn blue. I could wait for the message to ping, I could wait a lifetime just for you. I could wait for sun to slowly rise, I could wait until the clock strikes two. I could wait until the ocean dries, I could wait a lifetime just for you. I could wait until the music stops, I could wait for both our teas to brew I could wait until the penny drops. I could wait a lifetime just for you. I could wait for every cloud to pass, I could wait for the cold morning dew, I could wait for the greenest of grass I could wait a lifetime, I'd wait two.
