I miss when stranger things was gay :(

Why the fuck did they give Will, Marty McfuckingFly inspired clothing? Why did they hire the actor who played Sarah Connor? Why the fuck are there 12 kids? Why the fuck was the clock so important in season 4 and in every Vecna related doom sound effect? Where the fuck is the time travel aspect that was explored in season 4, when Henry would rewind the clock? Where did the shame go? The conformity? The pointing out these as wrong?!

If the lesson of the show is that queer people don’t deserve joy, don’t deserve freedom and happy ever after well i guess the show did a good job

It is so symbolic that we don’t see Will suffer when Vecna or the Shadow Monster is being attacked because Will’s suffering, his joy is constantly neglected throughout the show and this is just the icing on the top. Yes we know that Will has been through a lot BUT we are never allowed to see this like we do for other characters. This highlights queer erasure even more. We see Lucas and Max have their moment and kiss, we see Joyce and Hopper have their moment but Will? Absolutely neglected and treated so inequally.

This show is a fucking micro-aggression at best and a hate crime at worst to the queer community.

WE KNOW HOPPER IS TAUMENTED BY HIS PAST ALREADY… why are they showing us this again? Yuck.

I truly believe initially the scripts were written for this to be Mike regarding his internalised homophobia re “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”

Also why the fuck don’t we see any of the internal battles for Will? We hear about it but never see… is queer suffering too much to talk about? But straight suffering is okay? Bleh

The ending actually makes no fucking sense.

The whole point of the show was about queer love overcoming and winning…

The shadow monster was nerfed - why did it fly away/leave the mouths of all the kids? This made no sense? What was its intention throughout the whole series?

The monster had demonstrated to feed on shame and fear and hate and I guess having Will have that scene paid the knot of Will’s self-hatred off but it feels so cheap :(

To all the Bylers who want to end it, I hear you and I feel you. I am grieving this opportunity for queer love to win and actually have the moment it deserves. I really want to honour that how the series ended is a fucking graveyard, I am here offering flowers to the tombstone that is byler. I really love this community and the symbols and how much I’ve been able to explore my own queerness through this series. This will always be a fact and just because it turned out this way doesn’t mean I can’t continue to exist in different ways. It is really upsetting honestly but such is live and death, such are funerals.
