Fast Fashion Needs to End!! Just to give you a feel for how much waste the fast Fashion industry produces here is my story. When I worked in the fast Fashion industry. I used to design around 200 pieces a month trying to keep up with new trends. This would then be sampled; So Imagine 200 odd individual garments come through into the office. That’s more than you probably buy each month! From that about 30 of these pieces would be put through to production. Buyers would usually book quantities of around 500-1000 pieces depending on the type of garment. SOOO.. That’s already between 15,000 and 30,000 pieces of clothing out in the world created just from my input. And to think there are at least 40-50 designers at my company alone. You are already starting to see the numbers. Don’t believe me?the World Economic Forum identified fashion, and its supply chain, as the planet’s third largest polluter (after food and construction), releasing 5% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. This is why I started Red Röze! To create timeless pieces that are either up-cycled, or in small quantities that minimalize the impact on the planet. Fashion will never be completely sustainable unless we start going out the house naked but we can start thinking about what we are purchasing! #buyconsidered #shopsmall #alternativefashion #shopindependent #shopvintage #shopupcycled #shopsustainable #fuckfastfashion #fastfashionsucks https://www.instagram.com/p/CaAkbqoriYR/?utm_medium=tumblr
