Not as exciting as my geography skillz, but I had a nice afternoon in the sun and am about to get cleaned up to go meet some friends to watch the World Cup. My social life continues to be feast or famine, but Iāll enjoy it while I can!

Not needing to feed a growing 9 year old has absolutely revolutionized my budget. I feel completely flush not needing to buy groceries right now, even though Iām currently in a country with an unfavorable exchange rate. Absolutely bonkers. If I were actually getting my lazy ass up for the free breakfast, Iād feel like I was diving in pools of gold like Scrooge McDuck. 1pm coffee is more my speed though.
I bought an ill-advised āAmerican-styleā buffalo chicken wrap at Tesco express, and this abomination feels like a declaration of war.
Might have been a little stressed the last month (year). Arrived yesterday, had a full day, met an old friend for drinks, forgot to eat until 9pm, found food, went back to my room, showered, crashed, and proceeded to sleep 13 hours.
Just realized I actually need to pack before I leave tomorrow. Devastating

Watching season 5 of The Bear and it continues to be one of the most stellar and true representations of fucked up family and interpersonal dynamics on tv.
My cat just somehow nudged the faucet on, took a quick grooming bath in the kitchen sink, hopped on my lap with his (very) wet fur and paws, and proceeded to shake the excess water off in my face. Now, he rests.
In other news, no thanks to my ex leaving the state a year ago and leaving me with 95% custody, today I submitted my application to graduate in August. I still have to finish a few things in the next month to wrap up my practicum, but itās finally (finally!) happening.
My childās father asked me if Iām sending pillows for L to use at his place for the summer. He lives 1000 miles away, and L is flying there next weekend. Thatās gonna be a no from me, dude. Sort it out!
The level of panic I feel from accidentally booking a nonrefundable hotel room for a night should be studied in a lab.
Me: I should probably slow down and travel a bit less
Also me: has 9 hotel stays booked during the next 6 months
Intense contemplation turned into existential despair.

I love that I have little eye crinkles from laughing and smiling so much in my 47 years. Life has really done its best to kick me in the tits over and over again, and Iām still a happy person at my core. That feels like a win.
