MILO BENNETT . grandson of rita bennett , a movie star who was on the top of the world in the 50's until her plane travelling to europe for the first time crashed & claimed her life . milo's mother , terrified of living in the poverty her mother grew up in , sold the soul of her firstborn child to the devil to never lose the bennett family fortune — planning to outsmart the devil by never having a baby . ( shortly after her 31st birthday , 10 years after the deal , amy bennett gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy despite showing no signs of pregnancy . )

milo grew up plagued with anxiety & visions that his mother was not ready to deal with , it was no secret in their household that milo was unwanted . something the various boyfriends amy brought through saw & took advantage of . by eighteen , milo is a fully fledged addict who is wasting his grandmother's money on any drug he can get his hands on . by twenty four , he has brought further shame upon their family by getting arrested & forced into sobriety by choosing rehab over prison time . by twenty eight , he has relapsed for the first time after confronting his mother on her treatment of him , only this time he attends rehab willingly . upon leaving rehab the second time , the "visions" are worse than ever . milo works in a harm reduction centre for fellow addicts trying to get clean .
