You probably donāt know the crux of the drama, so let me give you a recap.
Nox accused Gisel of scamming people because they use real pictures for backgrounds instead of drawing them for commissions. Not tracing.
And while yes, using real pictures for backgrounds instead of drawing them for commissions is not cool, this art piece you put isnāt a commission. Meaning nobody paid for it. Meaning Gisel didnāt make a profit off of it. And while yes this is clearly traced, it couldāve been a study, we just donāt know. I know plenty of artists who trace to practice.
Meanwhile, Nox is blatantly tracing as well as potentially using AI and making a profit off of it. The image I put as an example is a commission from my friend @elisalsaa
And since he deactivated his account, you canāt see the comments he left. But his comments boiled down to him lying and attempting to gaslight his way out of it. He says he wasnāt tracing because the lines donāt match up by the tiniest pixels.
He also charged an extra $100 for a Speedpaint of your commission. He used clipstudio paint. Timelapse Speedpainting comes free with that, and you can also hide layers from the Speedpaint if you wanted to.
And before you say anything, yes there is evidence that Gisel has also been caught tracing for commissions. But hereās the thing, the only piece of evidence Iāve seen of it is a very complex looking crown. Not entire poses and portraits where everything lines up perfectly.
I am not defending Gisel for using pictures instead of drawing backgrounds, nor tracing for a commission, that was never the intention of this post. I personally just think it was very hypocritical of Nox to ācall someone outā on something that has been going on since about 2023 and nobody has complained about (and Gisel never claimed to draw the backgrounds), while he was doing something arguably much much worse and making a profit off of it.
And for your information, I dispose drama. But this is the only drama Iām getting into because Nox tagged me in his call out post.
