“Anyone ever feel like you and your family are cursed? Even if that sounds ridiculous?”
Strucker family photos
“Does anyone in this city know how public transit works?”
“From my experience, no. I haven’t taken public transit in a long time, but I’m not surprised that the general public still can’t figure it out.”
“The Bachelor is garbage tv and I will continue to refer to it as such, but that in no way means I’ll quit watching it. Garbage tv is the backbone of our society— go ahead and try to change my mind.“
“Wow, until you said that I hadn’t even thought about watching television. It’s been.. months.”
“If someone was missing we marked them down as deceased. It’s not set in stone, but it’s the best we could do with a high number of people all vanishing at once.”
“I can see how that makes it easier, but there also needs to be a focus on missing mutant cases as well. There’s more gone than just the ones lost during the Cleanse.”
“It’s a shame to equate me to my nieces.”
“I agree with you. I’m sorry if I’ve seemed.. wary. Your nieces have caused me and my family a lot of grief.”
rcgves:
“My mutation. It’s takin’ others mutations. But ah’ve been where you are. When I manifested ‘ah murdered my boyfriend by touchin’ him. The people ‘ah love ‘ah hurt too when they touch me.”
“I’m so sorry, that’s awful.” Reed paused a moment and gave her a sympathetic look. “No one should have to go through that.”
pclariis:
“Of course I care about him. Someone has to keep an eye on him and his psycho little girlfriend. Believe it or not, Andy is safer with me than he ever was with you. We have money, protection. You’re supposedly dead and barely scraping by.” With a cool gaze, Lorna stared at his hands. “The homosuperior gene is strong. It makes it through.”
“Do you honestly believe that Lorna? We see what the Inner Circle does, we know that your missions aren’t safe. How is that safer?” Reed was getting angry but he stopped himself and undid the fists his hands had clenched into. “Well, maybe this is a distasteful thing to say, but I wish it wasn’t. All this mutation is bringing me is pain. I’ve been told it could kill me.”
ghcstiing:
“I wish I could.” Sorrow overtook her. “I can’t even help myself.” She pulled back then, taking a step away from him. “I’m sorry.”
“No, no, you don’t have to apologize. I’m sorry you’re also searching for an answer to your problem still. It’s.. frustrating, to say the least.”
c-yxlops:
“You’re coming into it really late,” as Scott approached him, he was offering his arms in front of him, giving Reed a sense of security. “But it’s all the same. Learning to control it, or managing it.” he reached slowly to tap the side of his glasses. “I never got the chance to control mine, but I manage it well. The X-men know how to help you.”
Reed let out a laugh. “Yeah, just a bit late. To tell the truth, this almost happened when I was younger, and then I was given a treatment that was supposed to erase my X gene.” He shrugged, eyes glued to the floor and shoulders tense. “Obviously it didn’t work. But no one seems to understand that I don’t want to control it. I need it gone, like it was before.”
xeclipsed:
“Reed-” Marcos hesitated in his movements, carefully drawing closer. “-We’ve all been here. But you’re in good hands. Let us help you.”
“I don’t think I can be helped Marcos!” Reed snapped a bit, not on purpose. As he spoke he found the ‘medication’ he had been taking and prepared another dosage. “My powers could kill me-- maybe not every mutation is meant to be controlled.”
magikr:
“That looks painful.” Illyana’s eyes glowed white. “And dangerous.”
“You would be correct. Are mutations always painful to the person who holds it? It’s been getting worse--”
adamantiiumbuilt:
“If you hit me, I will heal.” Laura stood her ground. “Have you talked to anyone? The X-Men could help.”
“They can’t help with what I want. I want my powers gone, not just under control.”
e-mpathic:
“Your powers are manifesting.” Cordelia said, eyeing him up and down. “That could be a problem if you keep pretending it’s not happening.”
“It’s not the first time they’ve manifested-- but I thought they had gone for good. If I don’t try to keep it contained I’ll end hurting other people, but it also causes me pain. I’m not sure it’s possible for me to.. let it loose.”
xeclipsed:
“We haven’t. The Underground hasn’t been the same. It never felt like it recovered.”
“It hasn’t. Things just keep falling apart more and more, Lauren is different now-- I’m not sure if any of us have solid legs to stand on right now.”
de-strucker-tion:
Andy averted his eyes as he rubbed his arm. “Still don’t have it under control?”
“I’ll be fine.” Reed answered, avoiding his son’s question. He had a dosage of the suppressant with him but he could wait later to take it-- he hoped. “It’s just been.. tougher than I thought.”
tribusfrost:
Even though he was taller than her and broader Esme didn’t back down. Reed Strucker had powerful children but he was a mess. A man on the brink, constantly teetering on the verge of falling apart. Reeva wouldn’t be happy if Esme said she had killed him, of course. They’d have to explain it to Andy and there was always the chance that he’d act out. The worst case scenario after that was Reeva opening her mouth since she had already proved in the past she wouldn’t mind killing Andy even if it made Esme pause. It all just seemed like too much work though, so she just smiled instead and kept eye contact. “I suppose we’ll have to see about that, won’t we?”
“And while I’m at it-- stay away from Lauren.” Apparently there was still some anger that Reed had to let out. “I don’t know how you and your sisters are involved in whatever has been going on with her and Andy, but I doubt your hands are clean. She stays with us.”
