I’ve been to like 3 dance classes after over a year of not dancing and I already had an Oireachtas dream.
So lately I’ve been drilling things that I need to improve on but aren’t usually in any of my steps. I was never really taught to treble properly when I started dancing and as a result, flowy trebles have always given me issues. I can’t seem to ever turn out my back foot no matter how much I drill (and turnout is usually my best skill so it’s very frustrating that I can’t get this right). If any of y'all have advice for how to make these trebles better, I’d really appreciate it!
I’ve always had the same issue. It was because I was going around my feet when trebling instead of thinking of lifting my knees and going up and over, hopefully this helps a bit!
So I might’ve gotten slightly annoyed and went and made a petition to CLRG to add an additional senior age group to the worlds syllabus. So you should go sign that thing. And tell me if I should add anything.
(I tried to indent and paragraph it out so it wouldn’t read like a friggin book but it wouldn’t save any of my spacing, so…)
Andie is trying to change the world. Please sign everyone!

Oireachtas recap
So I danced at the Oireachtas on Friday and wasn’t really sure to feel about how I danced. Two weeks ago right before the Davis feis I fell and hurt my knee and it was really painful to dance. I didn’t want to miss out on the Oireachtas so I pushed through it for two weeks even though I couldn’t give my all in practice. I felt like I had two solid rounds on Friday however it wasn’t enough to put me in the recall. Even though I didn’t achieve my goal of recalling, I am learning to accept that sometimes things in Irish dance don’t go your way and you can only control how you dance. Even though it sucks not achieving my goal, I am never going to stop trying because I want to hear my number called out, want to come off stage knowing I danced my best, and I have want to have the feeling of success. My age group shrunk to only 48 people with 15 previous wqs in the competition. After getting my marks I was happy to see that I was 28th with some pretty good marks and above some amazing dancers. Congratulations to all of the u18s who all danced beautifully and shoutout to everyone who is continuing to dance in college because God knows it’s not easy. For me continuing to practice and stay motivated while adjusting to my first semester at college is a huge accomplishment in itself. I am so grateful for having my dance family, my amazing teachers and the opportunity to get up on stage year after year.
Even though this Oireachtas could have gone better for me, I am so proud of myself for how far I have come in only a year, and feel like I am dancing the best I ever have. Now I am moving onto my next goal: getting my last first and qualifying for nationals in Orlando. Congrats to everyone who competed this weekend and especially my Denogla-Ardmore family who all absolutely KILLED it this weekend with 9 world qualifiers and a winning minor figure, I love you all.
Onwards and upwards.
Um sorry but i think i found my doppelgänger..?
