Why does Jealousy ruin your life?
As we stroll through the Instagram feed and look at somebody’s profile on Facebook, follow famous celebrities or stalking your ex being happy with someone else, jealous is toxic but we all feel it, and it is hard to cope. After reading this blog, you will have powerful tools you can use to overcome Jealousy.
1. Realise why you are jealous
The reason why you may be jealous because you have to discover the deeper meaning behind your feelings. For example, when we look at images of a happy couple and you feel jealous about not having someone like him/her in your life, jealousy can rise. It happened to me, I found it really hard to watch a podcast about my crush talking about his relationship. It made me feel like something was eating me up on the inside. You want to try and stop that feeling and you can. When you accept that jealousy is part of human nature, we can tackle it. We need to sit down in one corner and spend time writing out or recording out voices the reason why.
Jealousy leads to rage, if you fail to admit your own feelings or acknowledge jealousy, progress will become stagnant. When you admit you are jealous, you begin to be aware of where you are lacking or what insecurities you have. Acknowledgement is powerful and that is the moment everything changes.
3. Gratitude overcomes scarcity
When we start to compare our lives to someone else, we are sending a signal out to the Universe about that lack we have. We will end up attracting more of that lack, resulting in a negative cycle. The way I dealt with the scarcity mindset is through gratitude and reading autobiography about the great minds. I noticed their life was just like our because they’ve overcome obstacles in order to reach a goal. It changes your mindset from ‘They are just lucky’ to a reality check. Gratitude is a powerful way to overcome scarcity.
4. Consider your insecurities
Now you may know why you are jealous and even admitted it, but insecurities may often lead to jealousy. For example, when I was jealousy. For example, when I was jealous of seeing two couples successful, I realised that it was due to not giving myself the attention I needed.
Comparison is the greatest thief of joy.
When I started to focus on myself and my passions, I forgot about dating life. Happiness was there all the time, when I stopped focusing on others.
