Marketa Irglóva - Leading Bird premiere on Spin!

We proudly present to you our newest music video, a piece we shot last June for the lovely Oscar-winning musician Marketa Irglova, for the first single of her upcoming album 'Muna' which will be released on september 23rd on Anti records. 

"I am inspired by the open space, the wilderness of the nature, the strong energy coming from the land," Irglová said of Iceland's influence on her new music. "There is a harmony, a balance, something that allows for a freer flow of creativity. It is easier to be one with oneself and one with everything and everyone around." (spin magazine).

Here’s a small glimpse of the works we’ve had a proud hand in creating. 

Nova - Hækkaðu í sumrinu [Brandenburg](2014)

Director - Hörður Sveins

Producer - Helgi Jóhanns.

Creative agency Brandenburg created a very engaging campaign for Icelandic cellular company Nova where the feeling of summer is taken and spread as far and wide as possible. Hörður Sveins was approached to shoot the photos for the campaign, and then on a turn of a dime it was decided to make a few spiffy little web/tv-spots, with these excellent results. All djs are actual working djs, and all fun is actual fun. 

Rea Garvey - Can’t Say No [2014] (Polydor/Island; div.of Universal Music GmbH)

"The second music video I’ve directed, this time for the Irish / German Rea Garvey. We shot the video in Reykjavík. In the time it took to shoot the video we managed to have a small car accident, I got to take my second ever ride in an ambulance (not related to the car accident) and we got the help of Iceland’s sexiest choir, Bartónar, who drank in total 180 litres of beer!" - Hörður

The teaser for Refurs first production, Rea Garvey's Can't Say No directed by Hörður, is now online via Reas facebook page.  The teaser already has garnered 1000 likes and 100 shares in its first hour online, so it seems that Rea's fans are looking forward to the video which drops on thursday. Check out the teaser after the break.
