Good

People are born. People do die.

In your time, you mustn’t act based on acceptance.

You must strive to be great.

To be great is to act with truth and goodness over and over and over again.

What is true and good? 

That which is good in the eyes of G-d.

Well what is good in the eyes of G-d?

His commandments.  

Love your fellow man.  Respect your parents.  Don’t steal.

The list goes on.

Love and oneness

Love is desirable. It warms us and we radiate like the sun. Same with oneness-to feel connected to all things, past, present and future. Connected to those around us, as if It were all one single entity. That puts us in touch with something... Larger.

Heroes walk

Heroes walk among us.

There is a story behind every soul.

You may never hear that story, perhaps nobody will.

Yet they walk with it.  

You will be amazed if you ever do hear their story.

Your perspective towards them will be forever emboldened.

Feel emboldened to them before the story.

Rice cooker tricks🍚

I like to cook. I've been experimenting with my new rice cooker. So far I've discovered: Cloves of garlic cook beautifully. Nothing needed, simply remove their skin and drop it in. Whole pieces of ginger or turmeric don't cook well, nor do they permeate the rice. I've found ground spices do permeate but I expect that pungency is lost to the steam. There is a golden ratio of 2:1 water:rice. Tomorrow I aim to mess with it. Cooking has a healing property to it. So does experimentation. So does eating.

It never pays to rush. Attention is one of our most precious gifts. Time learning is well spent. Growth has pains. Eat more veggies. Enjoy the little things.

Awe

We all have felt it.

WOOOooooooooaaaaaaahhhhhhh

Thaaaaaaaaaaaat’s biiiiiiiiiiiiigg

And we escape.  We are transported to a distant place.  A state of awe.

From that place, petty matters don’t exist...they simply don’t. 

Find your place of awe.  Remember that space.  Bring that power into your everyday life.  Your reward will be freedom.

Distractions

There will always be a distraction, a resistance if you will.

It takes many forms; music, text messages, thoughts, pains.

Each can be seen as obnoxious, urgent, disruptive, intrusive.

The truth is they will always be there.  Strength is the one who shrugs his shoulders and carries on.

We are attracted to certain people, buildings, or ideas because they resonate with us.
