What a week it had been! Elizabeth couldn’t believe she’d finally been able to appear on WWE tv in an actual wrestling role. It hadn’t been the most glamorous of things since she’d gotten squashed immediately, but it was a step up from being a Rosebud and she hoped that it could lead to more one day. That would be later though, right now there was New Years to focus on and she was thrilled that Joe had decided to stick around in Chicago for the holiday. Between their different schedules it felt like she didn’t get to see him that much so she was glad to at least have a few days with him. Even now they were out enjoying the chilly evening. Glancing up at him, she smiled. “See, winter in Chicago isn’t THAT bad.”

Despite all the teasing he’d done on Monday, Joe was relieved to see that Elizabeth was feeling better. Lina wouldn’t have intentionally tried to hurt the younger woman, he knew, but there was no denying that she was a hard hitter. Besides, even without having been able to see her perform on the same show, he would’ve been happy to see the blonde again, anyway. He hadn’t been able to do much more than exchange a few pleasantries with her the last time they’d run through Chicago, so this was a nice change of pace -- even if the weather did leave him longing for that Tampa sun. “Sure, it ain’t bad if you enjoy freezin’ your tail off,” he said, flashing her a quick grin to show he was only joking. “But it ain’t snowin’, so I suppose we oughta take that for a blessin’.” Pausing to take a sip of coffee, grateful for the warmth it provided, he cocked his head as he turned his attention back to her. “You’re gonna have to tell me, Lizzie, what are the New Year plans for Chi-Town? I’ll be countin’ on you to provide those must-do plans.”
