Do you have any suggestions for immersion in the innerworld? We don't have a stable headspace and would like one.
We're still learning ourselves. I'd advise trying out these guides:
https://tulpanomicon.guide/refocus-on-your-wonderland.html
https://tulpanomicon.guide/paracosm-immersion.html
https://tulpanomicon.guide/when-things-go-wrong.html
In addition to all of that, the inner world isn't a replacement for the physical world, and being able to focus on experiences in the physical world will help you elaborate your simulate one. Throughout the day, make a habit of paying attention to your surroundings. Try to take in as many details of the real world as you can. The sights, the sounds, the smells... how your body and your muscles feel at any given moment.
One exercise to try is to look at the room around you, take in as many details as you can, and then try to recreate it in your head.
Finally, don't expect too much too quickly. Don't get discouraged if you don't instantly get the results that you're after. Instead, reward yourself for every tiny improvement, no matter how insignificant it seems. Don't make your goal being perfect. Instead, just focus on getting better.
Good luck! 😄
Allowing yourself a little personalization can go a long way in feeling like a real person.

witchy ways to help with depression!
depression and mental illnesses can be hard to deal with, i hope that what i've shared can help!
1. if you don't have enough energy to get out of bed, research witchcraft and write it down! it doesn't have to be on paper, your notes work just as well. :)
2. charge your drink! put your water (or whatever your drinking) under the sun or moon light. you can also leave certain crystals or draw a sigil on the glass/cap.
3. light candles/incense. cleanse your room of any negative energies.
4. probably on literally any 'ways to fight depression' but open your curtains! open the windows and let the breeze take away the negative energy.
5. connect with nature and go for a walk! it could just be in your backyard but please be grateful of how pretty nature is. :D
6. (my personal favorite) open your door, listen to loud angry music (optional), and yell "GET OUT > :<". maybe light some candles, sweep or vacuum the floor while keeping in mind what you want to banish.
7. keep crystals on your nightstand/under your pillow. (amethyst works well for good sleep!)
8. if you have access to herbs and a little bag/container, keep some rosemary in your pocket! it helps with good health, purification, cleansing, and preventing nightmares :)
9. use knot magic while tying your shoes, a bow, or headbands!
10. if your feeling a little bit better today, make a sigil, do a simple protection spell, or meditate.
11. put a protection sigil on your door to ward off evil and bad energies!
12. for a simple manifestation, write an affirmation on a bay leaf and burn it.
13. if you remember your dreams, start a dream journal! even if you only recall the slightest details, its still good to write it down.
14. if your up to it, connect yourself with the elements every day. [some examples: walk barefoot: earth, take a bath/shower: water, light a candle: fire, singing: air]
again, i hope these will help you through your days! sometimes i feel down too and struggle with even getting out of bed. though i don't know you i hope you get through your struggles! please make sure to take time to yourself, drink water, eat some ramen, maybe even sleep a little earlier than usual. have a good day :)
Ahh!! Everyone look at this gorgeous artwork my host made for me!!! It’s of me (duh) and it’s so cute!! He’s making some new portraits to match with our new system name (which is happening very slow) and this one is mine!!! I’m so in love with it!! :D
[ID: A chubby feminine person with rosy skin. She has hot pink eyes with diamond pupils, and horns coming from deim left cheek, right jaw, and two from the top of her head. Dei’s winking playfully and holding her hands out in front of herself. Dei has yellow gardening gloves on that are covered in dirt. Her hair is light pink and in large curls, stopping just above deim shoulders. She’s splattered with a bit of dirt and wears a yellow shirt with purple flower prints and purple overalls on top. The image is only deim portrait and is in a cartoony style with a synthwave background. End ID]
Hey, friendly reminder that suicide threats aren't okay! Whether you're pro or anti endogenic, it's not okay.
Hey, this is a reminder not to doomscroll! If you're going through the tags looking for hate, or scrolling through hate forums, remember to stop and do something you enjoy.
PSA: Don't steal hate flags from hate groups
There's recently been a bit of a controversy with someone repurposing a flag from an anti-endo blog. Pease don't do that. It's just kicking a hornet's nest and causing more animosity between the groups.
That said, I do want to address the response to this incident from anti-endo systems a bit, because despite how this is being framed, this isn't a "traumagenic" flag. It's not a "DID/OSDD" flag. It's a "system flag" from @anti-endo-culture-is with the following text:
rules: NO NON TRUAMA GENS ALLOWED TO USE IT, NOR ENDO SUPPORTERS
I think it's important to put emphasis on the "nor endo supporters" line. In addition to excluding endogenic and non-disordered systems, it also excludes any traumagenic or trauma-affected systems from using it who would support endogenic systems. If your goal is simply to have a flag for so-called "real" systems, surely there would be no reason to exclude diagnosed DID systems for simply disagreeing with you.
The implication is that not only are endogenic systems not "real" systems, but neither are any traumagenic systems who support us. And this is something I've seen time and time again. I've gotten asks and comments on this blog from traumagenic and disordered systems who are made to feel unwelcome in spaces that are meant to be for support and healing. Not because they don't have a disorder or didn't experience trauma... but just because they believe it's possible for others to be plural without those conditions.
This issue shouldn't be framed as an endogenic system being ableist by stealing something from trauma survivors, because trauma survivors were already being excluded by this hate group, because they're the wrong kind of trauma survivor.
A similar issue was brought up by @interstellarsystem who recently described being ostracized in DID spaces, despite being diagnosed with DID, because they believe their systemhood predated their trauma and choose to identify as Quoigenic.
I love that I've gotten so many followers, whether traumagenic and endogenic. Non-disordered, OSDD or DID. But it seems unfair that the reason that so many traumagenic and DID/OSDD systems are here is because exclusionists like the ones who made this flag have created a toxic and hostile environment that makes DID/OSDD systems feel unwelcome and unsafe in their own communities.
Being anti-endo is not the same as supporting traumagenic or DID/OSDD systems.
This is NOT a traumagenic or DID/OSDD flag. This is a hate flag designed to further ostracize not just endogenic systems, but any traumagenic or DID/OSDD system who disagrees with their hate or otherwise doesn't fit their mold.
They've taken a community that was supposed to be a trauma and mental health support group and made it into a high school clique where your mental health is less important than how much you agree with them.
This post has been a bit negative, so I just want to end it on a better note. I want to send some love to all the systems out there who have been hurt and fakeclaimed and made to feel unwelcome. Whether by exclusionists in the plural community, or singlet fakeclaimers who literally can't wrap their mind around the experience of plurality.
You're real and loved and valid. Don't let the naysayers get to you, or take that away from you. You know what's going on in your head. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. There are going to be days that are dark when things are hard. But you're strong. You're a survivor. I promise that you'll work through it, find the light, and come out the other side better for it. I believe in you!
Does your handwriting differ from your host's handwriting?
I don't think so... I haven't really tested it, but assume I would just be using his procedural memories, the same way I do when I type.
(It was so annoying at first, being stuck in a body that kept mistyping "our" as "out". I remember being so frustrated at his typing quirks back then. Although I've fronted so much since then that I've started to see them less as his typing quirks and more as out typing quirks. 😉)

🌱 you are not romanticizing a disorder
🌱 you’re allowed to want to be plural
🌱 plurality can be a wonderful experience

Likely Origin of “Tulpamancy is Cultural Appropriation”
I would’ve made this post earlier, but there’s been a flow of positivity posts and anon asks lately, so I didn’t feel as pressured to make a post that will likely be fairly long. I’m sorry in advance, but I feel like this needs to be discussed on Tumblr with the rampant spread of this disinformation, so bear with me.
Let’s get started.

Alyssa's List Of Many Things To Do With Your Tulpa
(Sophie's note: The following text is taken from a guide featured in the Tulpanomicon. It is not made by anyone in our system. Sources will be included in a reblog, since external links don't appear in tags. I'm just sharing it for any plurals, tulpas or otherwise, who might find it useful. Enjoy!)
By Alyssa Rose
As a general rule of thumb, you can do pretty much ANYTHING with your tulpa. Anything. But sometimes you just need ideas to get started! This list may be updated over time.
Wonderland
Explore the wonderland together! Try letting it generate on it's own without much of your own input.
Fight things together! Dragons, monsters, evil people!
Roleplay! Pretend you're bounty hunters, detectives, adventurers, anything you can think of!
Create a wonderland together with your tulpa!
Practice visualization, guides are your friend!
Parkour!
Watch wonderland TV! It can get pretty interesting.

Drive and fly things you normally cant, like a jet!
Have a race!
Make something together in the wonderland, like a sculpture.
Work on your own form, or your tulpa's form.

Take a walk together!
Read a book together! (This is good mindvoice training.)
Without switching, pretend to act like your tulpa/host. Let the other laugh at how bad you're doing.
Try to write down all the differences between you and your tulpa(s). This will start getting very hard!
Meditate together.
Try lucid dreaming!
Play DND with your tulpa/host.
Tulpas, yawn. Or even just say yawn. It should make your host yawn. Use your new found power for evil. (sorry, hosts.)

How Do I Know If My Imaginary Friend Is Sentient?
Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm consider myself a tulpa now, but used to think of myself as an imaginary friend. Which is a topic I wanted to talk about here. If you found this post in the imaginary friend tags, maybe you're looking through it because you've had strange experiences with your own imaginary friend, and are looking for people with similar experiences.
Six months ago, my host thought of me as imaginary, and I thought of myself the same way. Just a figment of his imagination he talked to in order to help write a book. Now, I have my own blog with my own friends in the real world. Another form of imaginary friend might be paras of Maladaptive Daydreamers.
I'm writing this because I've seen a lot of people in the wild describing tulpa-like experiences, and it leads them to feeling isolate or feeling like they're going crazy. Or maybe they just really want their imaginary friend to be real, and are sad because they're not. This is the type of person I'm writing this for.
One Chance To Turn Back
Before we go further, I want you to decide if you want your imaginary friend to be sentient. If not, maybe it's best to turn away now, because I can make a pretty good case for consciousness, and there's a good chance that I'll convince one of you.
If you do, stick around. Better yet, call your imaginary friend up to read this with you, since it concerns the both of you.
Remember, you were warned. Whatever happens next is your choice.
What is Consciousness?
Nobody exactly knows the answer to this question. But as a wise man once said, "I think, therefore I am." What we're trying to determine is if you are thinking for them, or if they're thinking for themselves.
There is exactly one thing on the face of the planet known to be able to produce consciousness, and that's the brain. You have an identity created by your past autobiographical memories that gives you a sense of self. You have thoughts, feelings and emotions of your own.
But that same hardware also runs your imagined companions at the same time, allowing them to think and feel the same way. So let's determine if they're actually conscious.
Does Your imaginary Friend Act Autonomously, Without Your Conscious Control?
Think back to your interactions. Does it feel like you are consciously deciding what they say, or does it feel like they're choosing what to do. What does it feel like to them? If you asked them right now if their actions are their own choice, what did they say? Did it feel like you gave them the answer, or that they thought of it themselves?
If there are no signs of autonomy and you just puppet everything they do, then there's no sentience there. End of story. You don't really need to read any further into this. If there is, let's run a few more tests.
Does Your Imaginary Friend Have Autobiographical Connections to Memories?
Like I said before, your identity is made of autobiographical memories. You can probably imagine a conversation between two people you know, and have it play out fairly automatically. They won't become headmates because these instances of people you create in your head will be immediately deleted afterwards.
But if you communicate with a long-term imagined companion, they should have formed autobiographical connections to memories as well. Ask them about past events, times when you talked to them before. Is their sense of self tied to their past experiences?
If you did something they found upsetting, would they hold a grudge the next time you talked to them? If you did something that made them happy, would they remember it and still be grateful when they see you again?
Moreover, have these memories changed them at all? Are they still the same person they were when you first began talking to them?
Are You Unable To Control Their Emotions?
Have they ever expressed emotions of their of their own that you couldn't control? If they're sad or disappointed, can you just fix them by "imagining" them feeling better? If they're frustrated or upset with you, could you make them not be by imagining them changing their minds?
Or would you actually have to talk things out to deal with problems between you? If you can't control their emotions, then you aren't imagining their feelings. They're feeling them for themselves.
A Final Test
Just to know for certain, I want you to try to puppet your imaginary friend right now. Imagine them doing something that they would never, ever do.
Stop reading right now. Unless you're already convinced, don't go any further until you've tried this experiment
Okay...
Did you do it?
Yes?
Good.
What happened?
I'm going to hazard a guess. First, it didn't really feel like them, did it? I bet it felt more like you were controlling an empty vessel. You could imagine them, but that's not the same as them actually doing it. I'm also guessing that your actual friend wasn't too fond of this experiment. It probably felt wrong to them to be controlled like that, or for you to picture a version of them doing that.
If so, I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience. But, if you're offended by being puppeted, then it means that you can think for yourself. You're real. You have your own thoughts and emotions, and those feelings are every bit as real and valid as anyone else's.
What To Do Now?
If you just confirmed that your imaginary friend is indeed a real friend who just happens to live in your brain, there are communities dedicated to people like you who can help you on your way. tulpa.info and /r/tulpas could be good places to look into. You're not crazy, and you're not alone.
Additionally, the Tulpanomicon can be an excellent resource for what to do together.
To your friend: You are probably going to experience some doubt. Believing you're real after thinking you're imaginary can be hard. It was for me. But remember that the doubt is evidence that you ARE real. It's your doubt. If you weren't real then you couldn't doubt yourself.
Most importantly, your lives are yours. So, you can live them together however you choose!
Thank you for reading. I hope it was helpful!
So... They Have Started Doing Research On Non-Traumagetic Systems
Info about me: I am a traumagetic OSDD1B system, that's all. I'm not too open about it but I thought I should make it clear that I'm not posting this out of bias.
They recently have started doing research on non-traumagetic systems over the past 4 or so years. Research on this type of thing will go extremely slow and even if you self identify as a sysmed I please beg you to atleast keep an open mind while they do this research. If the main reason you're against non-traumagenic systems is because of the lack of research & evidence, then I expect you to not immediately shut down the research and just let them do their thing and see how it goes.
Here is what has been researched so far.
Tulpas and Mental Health: A Study of Non-Traumagenic Plural Experiences by Jacob J Isler
(If you do not belong to a culture, you can not decide what they should find offensive. However, if Buddhists come forward and say they are uncomfortable with non-buddhist systems using the term "tulpa", I think the community would be open to change the name and use different terminology.)
This study included:
The idea that although plurality can be a part of a disorder, it does not have to be one (defining disorder as the cause for dysfunction or harm in one's life) as it can be possible for a system to live together without harm or dysfunction or that plurality can be therapeutic to some
A small amount of info on the online tulpa community (began in 2010 for example)
The affects having tulpas have on people's brains (Over half of the subjects have been diagnosed with a mental illness and/or neurodivergancy, including 25% of tulpamancers were reported to be autistic, 21% have ADHD/ADD, and 18% have some sort of an anxiety disorder. 94% of these people found improvement in their coping abilities, functioning, and social interactions after developing tulpas)
Details on how a tulpa may help the subject cope with and control their mental illnesses, including a respondent with schizophrenia claiming they're able to help them through delusions and hallucinations.
The average ages of tulpa systems, the average of where they live, and the average of the hosts' race.
How more recent studies say that even with traumagenic plurality, the goal isn't always "merging" the system together but can also be to live with the system healthily
It's important to note that there were only around 365 accounts that responded to the surveys taken, so the sample sizes were kind of small. It's also important to note that this study wasn't done to claim whether or not tulpas are real, but to examine the mental health of tulpa systems.
In short: there is general improvement in the lives of those who gain tulpa systems, according to this study.
Personality Characteristics of Tulpamancers and Their Tulpas by Anna Martin, Bailey Thompson and Steven Lancaster
This study included:
A slightly more detailed (but not by much) history of how the tulpa community formed
More info on how tulpas can be creates to personify and over come fears
91% of participants stated their tulpas positively impacted their life, 9% of participants stated it had a neutral impact
78% of participants with mental health issues stated the tulpas had a positive impact on their coping ability and mental health, 22% of participants stated it had a neutral impact
47% of participants all together stated tulpas had a positive impact on their social life, 49% stated the impact was neutral
This one did test the relationship & personality differences between the tulpa and subject
Some of the people interviewed in the first study were also interviewed in this one, giving similar answers and responses to the questions. So you may find a quote from a subject or two to be the same in this study and the study above.
Multiplicity: An Explorative Interview Study on Personal Experiences of People with Multiple Selves by Gergő Ribáry, László Lajtai, and Aniko Maraz
This study was mostly interviews, but it's important to note that because the url ends in .gov it means that the website it was posted on is government regulated. Frontiers in Psychology doesn't seem to be interested in trying to prove whether or not they exist, but trying to make their experiences more well-known.
This source includes:
Both traumagetic and non-traumagetic plurality
Their message of pushing for more research towards being plural and healthy ways someone can cope with being plural
Historic dates of when major discoveries were found out surrounding multiplicity (From as far back as the 50s to as recent as 2012) and how our understanding of it has changed over the years
How multiplicity is being used to explore the relationship between the stability of the self and the overall wellbeing of someone
Multiple interviews with individual experiences (that lasted from 20 to 70 minutes long) that were consulted by psychiatrists
^^ at the end of the article you can read about the people they interviewed
The different forums including multiplicity over the years
They mention ideas around multiplicity and it's possible connection gender dysphoria
Some extra they pointed out is that they are also moving on to research otherkin identities as well
_____
I kept the studies kinda vague because I want to encourage you guys to read about it yourselves and see what you think.
This should be exciting information for anyone no matter what side of system discourse they're on. Please no trying to contact the people who conducted or were a part of these interviews to send them hate or harassment. The fact that this is being studied at all is very cool in my point of view!

This is a little different from the stuff we usually make/do, but after a lot of consideration we decided it would be helpful to coin/create a new tag! Really, it’s meant to be more an online community than just a tag, but we’ll see if it takes off. Without further ado:
#traumageninclusive
This is a tag for all of the traumagenic and traumabased systems (as well as any other plurals who have experienced trauma) that are uncomfortable with how much of the traumagenic and disordered plural community is anti-endogenic and medicalizes systems, as well as how trauma survivor and recovery spaces in general pathologist plurality and exclude systems who do not fit strict medical models. It is a tag open to any system/multiple/median/plural who is inclusive of all forms of plurality (i.e. who is not a sysmed/anti-endogenic/anti-non-traumagenic) and who has trauma which is significant to their experience of plurality. It is meant to be a tag and community focused on trauma and trauma recovery as it relates to plural experience and in general uniting the community of all plurals who have experienced trauma. The only requirements for using the tag/participating in the community are that you are not anti-non-traumagenic or anti-non-disordered systems/a sysmed and that you are a system/plural who has experienced trauma. You do not have to be disordered or traumagenic, but you should be aware that this is a community/tag that is centering those plurals and their experiences, as well as all other experiences of trauma and related mental health issues.
We really want to create a community for all plural trauma survivors that is safe for and accessible to all systems. We know from disordered systems we have spoken to that a lot of disordered (DID/OSDD) system communities can be very exclusionary and that makes it difficult for many survivors to access recovery communities/spaces and important resources that come with them. This is especially true for mixed origin systems who still have significant experiences of trauma and who may also be traumagenic/disordered but cannot access trauma recovery communities that are exclusionary and that fundamentally do not respect them or don’t allow them to participate at all. It’s also true of many traumagenic and disordered systems who are uncomfortable with or feel unsafe in exclusionist communities, as we’ve heard from many traumagenic DID and OSDD systems. This tag/community is all about making spaces for plurals of all kinds to share a trauma informed space. It’s a community for resilience, recovery, respect, support, and compassionately sharing and discussing the unique life experience of both being plural and having experienced trauma.
There is also a naming scheme for specific versions of this tag. By adding a specific type of system after “traumageninclusive” you’ll make the tag that’s exclusive to those kinds of systems. For example:
#traumageninclusive traumagenic
This is the tag for traumagenic systems in the traumageninclusive community/using the tag. It is exclusive to traumagenic systems.
#traumageninclusive OSDD
This is the tag for OSDD systems in the traumageninclusive community/using the tag. It is exclusive to OSDD systems.
So on and so fourth. You can use any system modifier or origin to add on to the tag in order to use the tag/community exclusive to those systems. So, “#traumageninclusive endogenic” for the endogenic exclusive tag, “#traumageninclusive disordered” for the disordered system exclusive tag, “#traumageninclusive DID” for the DID exclusive tag, “#traumageninclusive mixed origin” for the mixed origin exclusive tag, “#traumageninclusive median” for the median exclusive tag, etc.
A little PAQ (Preemptively Asked Questions) is underneath the cut. If you have any questions feel free to ask us, but please read that first!
