I sketch out the props and environments so I have a little reference for the model. It's also useful for my intern who can make the sketch into a 3d model.

Looking great for so far only the texturing and lighting needs to be done. Also the polycount is something to be be aware of.

Texturing feathers for the Ostrich. I will be tweaking them in Photoshop bit.

But i really like the washed out crayon effect.

My plan for now is to finish the characters in the middle of march.

I am happy with the sweater of the little brother. The pants needs another texture and the hair needs to be redone. The face texture can be more extreme so i need to paint more freckles in mudbox.

For the Ostrich the feathers are the hardest part to do. I am painting the feathers and scanning them in so i can use them as an image plane. He also needs some plucks of feathers on his head and maybe some eyelashes. He doesn't need to be pretty this character should be more goofy.
