When Adeline was seven, her entire family was brutally murdered. When the peacekeepers came to investigate, they found the young girl hidden in a small cupboard covered in blood and gripping a knife. They assumed nothing of it, and quickly sent the now orphaned 10 year old girl to a home in the heart of the district. Only a few days after Adeline's arrival, one of the other children was found dead.
Not willing to take a risk with the girl, she was kept under close guard in prison. After spending a few weeks in the prison under harsh supervision, the guards soon began to ease up on the now 11 year old girl. Security dwindled and escape became easy for the small young girl. Adeline took care to escape and scraped by on the streets. After a few months, little Adeline became something of an urban legend, skirting along the edges of the district. Bodies seemed to follow in her wake, but her presence remained nearly invisible.
In her games, Adeline won the crowd over with a kind smile and sweet demeanor. Never speaking a word, the Capitol was easily throwing sponsorships at the girl that only grew in the arena. She became a bloodthirsty killer at times and a quiet forager at others. These episodes racked her competitors until Adeline wiped the blood of her last adversary on her light tribute uniform. Her games ended as one of the shortest in history, leaving 13 year old Adeline Fay as the victor.
