@reinmiranda
This is the area where we waited for the barangay kagawad Ms.Cecille which is the DRRM personnel in the Barangay.
This the kapitan of the barangay offical in project 6 with my friends.
You can see me in this picture wearing a yellow nstp shirt with eyeglasses that kinda looks like a sun glasses.
These the aftermath of the fire on calobo public market back in 2017 which is the most memorable event for the barangay officials because there are so many people who are affected by these event. Also it is near to the creek which is hazardous to those people who might still live here.
These are the safe places in our community which is The barangay hall itself, basketball court, police stations, and fire stations that are in Project 6.
I can tell that it is safe to evacuate to these area because it does have a large area that can accommodate people who needs shelter when it is needed, most of all it is near to the barangay officials.
On the way to Project 6 road 7 55
This is road 7 55 which is the settlement of informal settlers that are near to the creek which is hazardous to the community in project 6.
Libreng sakay sa road 55 7 and road 3 by Barangay Project 6
This is me and the barangay Kagawad Cecille ( A alumni from UST ) and my friends in the community trip.
These are the pictures of the Road 7 55 and Road 3 the most hazardous area in our community / barangay.
Part 2 The AfterMath
So yeah this is the last part of my blog in NSTP community walk. Previously we talk about what happened on our trip into the barangay hall and into the area that are prone to hazardous calamity.
In that minitrip we have learned many things that are essential as a good citizen in our area such as there are fire stations and police stations near our area that are obvously available 24/7 also the barangay always conducted drills and seminars to help the community to be well equipped with knowledge when a calamity comes.
Most of all i learned that in an every situation whether it is a suprising event of calamity such as floods and earthquakes we must also stay calm and try to remember all the things that our teacher / barangay official told us, because when decided to panic we cannot do things accordingly and morelikely that chances of our survival will be low.
Well, the most memorable part of this journey is when we go to road 7 55 and road 3 where the barangay officials shows us the reality that happens every year or month and the after math of a calamity especially to the calobo market.
All in all the trip is fun and memorable and most of all educational for us, so always remember be safe and always stay calm whatever happens in your life because most likely panic will make your situation much worse if you do that.
Community Talk / Trip
So yesterday me and my friends decided to go to the nearest barangay hall in our area to conduct our mini interview / kwentuhan with their assigned Disaster Risk Reduction Personnel.
We arrived at the Barangay Hall in Project 6 quezon city at exactly 1:30pm as expectedly it is so hot and tiring. We’ve ask the barangay officials on how we going to do if we want to talk with their DRRM personal, and then they say that we must wait until 2:30 pm because the personal is not present in the barangay hall. So we’ve waited and waited, to kill our time we’ve decided to walk around the barangay vicinity to check the area, all in all the facilities are good such as courts, playgrounds, fire station , police station, and the barangay hall its self are good and well sustained and fundable by the government in our area.
After an hour and a half Kagawad.Cecille Agcarli arrived tell us to get started by asking questions based on our guidlines on NSTP. The interview or more like kwentuhan because i did not feel that it is an interview because we are too comfortable on taking conversations with each other, it lasted about an hour and we learned so much about the barangay.
Ms.Cecille told us if we want to visit the areas that are most hazardous places in the barangay which is the informal settlers that are near the creek in Road 6 55 and Road 3 ( The old Calobo Market ). Ask a student that who wants a mini fieldtrip and a free ride to be honest we accepted thier generous offer.
First we visit the area which is many informal settlers settle that are near in the creek and most likely to be prone when water arises in the creek when a typhoon hits our area. Ms.Cecille said that every time that a typhoon hits our are the flood in that informal settlers area reach above the knee of an average size person and for me it is a pretty damn high flood. Other than that we also saw the bridge that connects to areas that has been made by the people who lives there and it is made out of steel and as of now i can say it is not safe to cross that bridge because all of the steels are corroded and looks not so sturdy on my opinion plus there is a high possibility that you might get infected by tetanus if you get bruises / leisure on that bridge.
After that trip, Kagawad brings us to the next area which is the old public market in road 3 that is formally called calobo market when the market is still intact. The market is burned back in 2017 and based on Kagawad cecille the event is so devastating for people in that area because they lost thier livelihood right in front of them. As now we can only see the main bones of the structure of the calobo market that is still intact and the remnants of the market that is burned back then. There are so many glass shards in the area as well as the trash that is left by the former people who lives there. The area is also near in the creek which means it is hazardous to anyone might live there.
About an hour the minifieldtrip comes to an end and the barangay officials bring us back to thier barangay hall, after that i talk to Ma’am cecille to thank to that freeride and minifiledtrip which is very education on my part and quite depressing on the part of calobo market because there are still people who lives there until now, before we go we take pictures with the Captain of the barangay and to Ms.Cecille.
