-It’s entirely possible that he could die here. It’s more than likely, in fact, given that this Enkidu has gotten ahold of the Chains of Heaven. That’s just something he’ll have to accept. If everyone gets killed here and now, it’ll be… difficult, but not anything irreparable. He wonders whether it’s worth it to make a fool of himself trying to deflect or dodge these chains for the sake of convenience, or if he might save face even if it means taking a trip to see Ereshkigal earlier than he’d planned.-
-As much as this impostor is starting to heat up…well.-
-Gilgamesh ceases moving. Just stands before him, now, waiting. Daring, perhaps.-
I wondered. You are, in terms of physical ability, far superior to my Enkidu. And impressive even by my own standards. But you’re a pretty convincing fake, I must say.
So then, what’s taking you so long?
Do you miss the sound of my voice?
-Finally, he simply snaps with a scream of frustration, one that rattles his core and feels like it could slip all his power just to claw away at that burning, glaring hole in his skull. All of it at once is just too much for him to handle. He should easily be able to take down a mere mortal--countless times he’s reaped the soldiers to deliver to his Mother, but now?-
-Gilgamesh stops, as if he holds superiority, like a much too arrogant ant on its hill in the face of a flame.-
-Does he miss the sound of his voice? There’s a screeching hollow call as something in his vessel protests, as if their ghost--no, there is no such soul.-
-He grasps at his head and fires one last blade toward the king--only for it to bury into the sand at his feet as he rises once again.-
-His gaze drifts from Gilgamesh to the proper Enkidu, as much as a Servant could be proper, as much as the old humanity could be proper, and sneers.-
I want to see your Uruk burn, I want to see your eyes as everything is torn away from you, and I want to see if you can think I’m “Enkidu” then.
-And with that, he turns and flees--in no logical direction, he simply escapes to where he knows he can’t hear those questions and see that disgustingly familiar face.-
