{ ♛ } - “Well excuse me for wanting to check.” Rosa replied, crossing her arms a bit as she goes to take out the other ingredients. Just to begin mixing them in before the chocolate is to be poured in.

    “Seems good so far, alright give me the bowl.” Rosa stated, though looked at the chocolate with a face since it looked kind of weird. Didn’t chocolate usually look smoother and squishy when melted. “Are you sure it’s done? Not that I’m complaining, maybe it’s just the chocolate brand.”

"Fine, you’re excused.” He teased one last time, “come on, are you really upset about this? I remembered the chocolate.”

Hugh moved to the side, letting Rosa take over the chocolate. “You think it looks weird, too?” Hugh took another look at the chocolate and shrugged. “It’s melted, that’s what we wanted, right?”

And yet here was Hugh taking care of him despite his belief that Nate could handle it. “Well, thanks anyway. It’s nice to have company at least.” Since he was stuck in bed anyway.

“So you sort of made it?” Nate hummed looking it over and swishing it around in the bowl. “Well… that explains why it sucks.” He said taking another sip.

Even if it was just a cold, Hugh had to make sure Nate was okay. As okay as a person stuck in bed with a cold could be, anyway. "Least I could do was check in."

"I'm not a chef, it's better than nothing.” Hugh grunted. He knew he messed it up, but it was still soup.

"Ugh..." Hugh grumbled, reluctantly forcing down the spoonful of soup. "Thanks, but you don't have to feed me.”

“Not worried, hm?” Nate didn’t believe him but sipped at the soup slowly, his hair seeming to stick out at even more odd places. “Did you make this?”

"Like you said, it’s just a cold. I know you can handle it.” Hugh shrugged, but colds were a pain so he wanted to help, and that was what the soup was for. 

Speaking of the which... “Uh, I sort of made it.” the bowl in front of Nate was basically over boiled vegetables and store bought soup.

"You need to eat!"

"Ugh, I know." Hugh grumbled, staring into the bowl in front of him. He wasn’t hungry at all, but she was right. His throat was killing him, too.

The Misadventures of Hugh & Nate

Nate sighed staying at home. Hilbert had went off somewhere to Arceus knows where. Nate was bored out of his mind. Trying to melt back into society was taking a toll on him. He had wanted to try and stay and make up for time lost and try to correct his wrongs. He had mended some of the friendships he had in the past. Hugh included. Nate go up and pulled on his shoes. He could go and bother Hugh. 

He was up to get into a bit of trouble. He went to his childhood friend’s house and knocked on the door. Waiting until the boy opened the door Nate grinned. “Hey, Hugh! Let’s go do something!” Anything. A bored Nate was a dangerous Nate. He wanted to get in trouble.

Hugh answered the door with considerably less enthusiasm than that of his friend. He thought staying home and relaxing was a good idea, and for a while it was, until he started getting bored. Now was a definitely a good time to do out and do something. But...

Nate had been his friend for so long, Hugh didn’t know if that made it easier or harder to forgive him for what he’d done. But he did want things to go back to the way they were, and that meant moving on. “Sure. Something like what?”

"Uh…" There’s a brief pause before Alibaba eventually adds, "I guess you could try down by the harbor. Someone there’s gotta know where you can get one ‘cause…most of the ones I know of are scrolled up and kept in the palace. So you won’t be able to use any of those. Sorry." 

"—But, wait just minute. Where’s this…Unova place? And how’d someone like you get all the way to Sindria in the first place?”

"There's a palace here?" If Hugh had come here on his own instead of mysteriously showing up, he could actually have enjoyed exploring this place. But right now his priority was figuring out how he'd get back, or at least how he'd call home. 

"Unova is north central, but never mind that. It’s easier to show you on a map.” Hugh just had to get his hands on one first. “What’s the quickest way to the harbor?”

"A map?" The question was followed by a slight shake of his head. “Not really.” From what he could remember, the only maps Alibaba knew of were the ones scrolled up, stored away in the palace somewhere. Not that that would help this guy’s cause any.

"But you’re kidding. You mean you don’t even know what country you’re in?" Man, how lost was this kid? “Just where exactly are you from, anyway?”

"Do you know where I can get one?" of course his map stops working the minute he's somewhere completely new. What a pain.

"I'm from Unova. So if that's not it then... no, I don't know what country I'm in." He hadn't left Unova, but if he was still there it wasn't any part of it he recognized.

"It’s kind of hard to explain." There was definitely something up, that much Neku had figured out, but he couldn’t just go cluing this kid on his thoughts, either. If he tried to explain that he’d ended up in an alternate dimension and that his phone was the only way to get into contact with the one person that could skip planes to pick him up, the guy was probably think Neku was nuts. It was best to just leave all of that unspoken for now. "—Sorry."

This Ferris wheel idea sounded like more hassle than it’d be worth, though. And Neku wasn’t about to ask this kid to ride with him just to get past the rule of two people. Maybe there was somewhere else with a high enough vantage point to get signal from. "Thanks, but…look. Do you know of anywhere else? Besides this Ferris wheel. Like a building? Or a bridge or something?"

"It would be easier to help you if you tried to explain it." Hugh didn't want an apology, it didn't help anything. But questions weren't going anywhere. Maybe he'd figure something out if they fixed the phone.

"There's buildings everywhere, but if you head east you'll get to Marvellous Bridge, which is pretty high up... You don't have a Pokemon on you that can fly you around, do you?" If he did, he wouldn't need help finding somewhere high enough. It also meant he'd be walking for a while.

"Okay, I’ll remember that. Anything else I need to know?"

"Avoid anything bitter in it’s food or you’re gonna have an angry pokemon on your side. Also make sure to clean it’s shell. That should be it!"

{ ♛ } - A huff and a pout was her response when he nudged her in a attempt to get her to accept his apology. Though she won’t stay mad long as she knows he really was being playful. Still she just wanted to play it up a bit as she stuck her tongue out at her best friend.

     ”Yeah yeah, what ever.”

     While she knew what she was doing this would be the first time actually melting chocolate. So was a bit unaware that while yes you melt chocolate it was to be with a double metal bowl. To avoid the high chance of not melting right. Just the chocolate touching the metal might be less then good also grainy. 

     ”Ok just make sure to stir and move it so it doesn’t burn.” Which she knew as her mom always made her stir it. “Ok setting up the oven.”

     Goes to preheat it then goes to create the batter, yum~

"I wouldn't have tricked you if you didn't ask. So it's your fault." He huffed. Hugh wasn't fooled by the girl's dramatic behaviour. Maybe he was going to be a little dramatic, too.

Hugh kept mixing, answering Rosa with a distracted "Mm-hm." He'd seen melted choclolate before and something seemed different about this chocolate. It didn't look as smooth as it usually did in pictures. Oh well, it was melted.

"So far he’s doing fine, turns out it’s a boy. I’m still getting him used to the team but I haven’t thought about giving him a name…"

{ ♛ } - Well if he was trying to scare her, the expression she made definitely was like she had had the ultimate betrayal. Only to let out a sigh of relief before glaring and smacking his arm a bit. “Geeze! I actually had a small heart attack there!” 

     It was important to have chocolate after all it was a marble cake so both vanilla and chocolate were in it. Though she a second she kind of forgot how she was suppose to melt it… Ah well a pan should be good enough to melt it, and she goes to set the pan over the stove. 

     ”Some chocolate and little bit of butter. This is the easy part.” She mused as she goes to crack the blocks of chocolate so it melts easier in the pan. Then some butter, making a motion for him to come stir it. “You can watch and stir the chocolate in once it starts melting.

"Sorry!" He held back a laugh, "I was kidding. It won't happen again." Hugh nudged her gently in hopes that she'd accept his apology. He meant it, even if was struggling to hide his grin.

For the most part, Hugh leaned against the bench and watched Rosa prepare the pan with... more interest than he thought. She looked like she knew what she was doing. 

That said, he didn't have the patience to stand around, so he gladly took the spoon and stood over the pan. Hugh gave it a few seconds and started stirring. It would have started melting by then.
