Things that need to end during Niall’s Insta Lives before he stops doing them and I’m left to figure out how to get through my days in quarantine alone.

1.  Stop asking him to sing One Direction anything.  The man has a new CD out. I get loving the boys but he spent 5 years of his life singing 1D.  He’s done.  And while we’re at it stop trying to enlist his celeb friends into asking for you.  They don’t wanna fucking hear it either.

2.  Stop with the heart posts.  And the I LOVE YOU NIALL!!! The man wants to engage and answer questions and he can’t fucking see anything in a sea of your bullshit.  He knows you love him.

3.  Stop being an asshole to him. The girls requesting Little Things tonight got increasingly angry and insulting with each minute he didn’t sing it.  That is not ok. You are not a 5 year old in the check out line who didn’t get a Snickers. Act right. 

4.  Take the fucking hint. With as many times as I saw requests for Little Things (Which…why?????  That song is boring af) tonight there is NO WAY he didn’t see it.  Which means he ignored it.  Get it?

5.  Dear Brazil, Argentina - really any fucking country in South America - he’s coming. Has he ever skipped over y’all in his entire touring career?  No. So stop screaming it at him.  

6.  His favorite song on HW is Black & White.  Song that took the longest?  Still.  Write.it.down.

Welcome back, Andrew! Could you talk about the different types of promo strategies that the guys are using with their new singles? I’m frankly embarrassed by how many people are pretending that Harry isn’t doing any promo or that the other guys should stop interacting with fans, asking fans to stream etc. They all have powerful PR teams

Look. Here’s the deal. None of them are in this as a cute hobby. They all signed with labels and they all took the money. Now the labels…and the boys…are all about making that money back and then some. Thus…they do promo. They just all go about it in a different way. 

Niall goes about it by interacting on SM and doing performances. It’s cheap but effective. Harry has HSHQ, and generally has some form of marketing. Last time it was the commercial. This time he seems to be using playlists and focusing his efforts on streaming. He’s also a fan of the carrot/stick approach. He stays out of the spotlight and withholds the product (ie himself) so that when it’s available…people run to get them some. Louis is also active with his fanbase and Liam…I dunno if he cares. lol He already said he’s not sure if he’s going to tour because he doesn’t like how restrictive it is. But he does post a lot and promo himself, so, his fans get a lot of content. 

The truth of the matter is none of these approaches are any better than the other. Just different. Because, honestly, not all of them would work for all the boys. It’s a matter of what’s the best fit and what the results are. I DO think that Louis, Liam and Niall could all use better face/name recognition when it comes to promo. I don’t exactly know how they would go about it…but it needs to happen if they want to grow their fanbase in any meaningful way. 

As far as all the crap I’ve seen online about “begging” for support…that’s just crazy talk. It’s the equivalent of saying “you aren’t being lazy enough” lmao If you don’t support, believe in, and hype yourself who’s gonna do it? It’s a crazy thing that cult Harries have started and now they are making stans second guess themselves. It’s dumb and tone deaf. 

My friend was correct when she said: 

All actors promote themselves. They tweet. They instagram. They go on talk shows and say watch my movie…watch my TV show. No one ever says they’re desperate or begging for views. Politicians stick signs in people’s front yards, have debates, make buttons and bumper stickers and commercials. They all say “VOTE FOR ME” and no one calls THEM desperate or says they’re begging for votes. Clothing designers have runway shows, full spreads in magazines, displays in stores, commercials….some of them even have Harry in them. They tell you where you can buy their clothes. Not one Harrie has ever said they were desperate or begging for sales. Almost every single piece of food you stick in your mouth has been advertised to filth. They all say their product is the best. Buy their food. Same with pharmaceuticals. No one ever accuses them of begging. So, Niall or Louis….or Lizzo I’m seeing a lot of that…asking people to stream or buy their music isn’t any different. It’s just a way for their haters to troll them. To make them seem “less than” and make them promoting themselves look dirty. 

They’re all excited about their projects and working hard to make sure they do well and, frankly, anyone shitting on someone because they’re proud and excited is just an asshole.
