I posted nothing for nearly a decade, and yet here we are. I follow from @imightpostabsolutelynothing, and barely know how this site works. Block #drunkpost for a better experience. Reminder that Vayne Solidor did nothing wrong. ARTIST RECS ALWAYS WELCOME.
This place is primarily going to be me screaming into the void, but secondarily it's going to be an informal catalog of the fanart that my wallet has sponsored - this site somehow has a better tagging and search system than every other widely-used site now, so I can't think of a better option that would let people find this stuff in the wild.
I'll be tagging the artists' names/handles/etc where I can. If you're the artist or know the artist and I missed the tag, message me. If you're the artist and you DON'T want to be tagged, message me and I'll remove it.
All art that I've commissioned will be tagged "#Cx". If I tag things with "commission" or any related term the post gets swarmed by bots so I won't do that anymore. My older posts were tagged with "commission". I can't draw for two beans and half an onion, so be confident that I haven't drawn anything that I post here that's worth looking at.
"#not FF" is the tag I use for non-FF fandom-related things.
"#aestheticposting" is the tag I use for general things that I think look neat at that specific point in time.
"#drunkpost" is a generic filter tag that includes the expected but also random posts that people who are here for FF probably want to filter.
Artist tagging notes:
Some of these pieces are ancient in internet years, and the artist has nuked or switched accounts and I can't find them. Unless it's misleading (ie someone else has taken their name) I'll include the name they were using when I commissioned them.
Some artists explicitly don't want to be associated with fanart, so I won't tag them. If you're interested in the artist for commissioning purposes then message me - 99% of these cases the artist just doesn't want to be searchably connected, and are alright with giving out names in non-searchable ways.
A few artists just don't want to be connected to commissioned artwork, or to a specific piece, or etc. Obviously I won't tag these artists.
Whatever the reason, if you're the artist of any of the art I post and you DO or DO NOT want to be tagged on it, or if you're using a different name and want it updated, let me know.
Art tagging notes:
The range of taggable content for these is going to be quite narrow. In general I'm only going to be posting and tagging fanart, of which I have a narrow band of interest in paying for.
I'll tag the characters, and the fandom, for all pieces. If I missed or misapplied a tag, let me know.
If you know of a better way to tag all these FFXIII sheep, also let me know.
All images that I've personally commissioned will be tagged with "#commission" or "Cx". If the tag isn't on the post, then I didn't commission it.
genuinely losing my mind
planes are cool
imagine Rygdea flying an F22 like he was an AC protagonist with no blood
insane
From what we've seen of their aircraft technology, imagine a FF12 or FF13 pilot trying to fly a jet
Neither of those worlds seem to have airflow as the main propulsion or lift method (understandable, as these methods are sort of suboptimal and they have better magic/pseudomagic methods to take their place)
and the implications of that on aircraft MoA/MoO are staggering
98% chance FF dude either stalls out doing something he thinks is normal, craters in a panic doing something he thinks is normal, blacks out then craters trying to perform a maneuver that is absolutely survivable/recoverable at speed in his motherland's craft but is not at all survivable/recoverable at speed in a 2020's-Earthling jet, or otherwise fucks up while trying to mentally do the compound physics that is jet flight
which is still better odds than the Earthing or earthling-adjacent dude who thinks he has air momentum and resistance on his side and immediately blacks out and ends up going ??? direction on the first turn he tries because he's not used to a full send on the stick being a FULL SEND LAD HOLD ON on the stick has at survival on day 1
not 100% certain yet, but I may have gotten back into ace combat more than I should've
looking for artists who can draw pilots and plens
genuinely considering getting a hotas
liking the background engine sounds from my new sound system more than I thought I would
not where I thought this was going to go
holy shit lads, over FOUR HOURS to finally clear SP13. I need to lock the fuck in and git gud, this is pathetic.
At least I finally experienced all of unhingedness at the source though, this DLC experience was wild even by AC standards. Despite the reputation there is some genuinely good voicework in this game, like actually good, and it's been nice to experience it natively.
>36 minutes
I'm starting to think I might just have a thing with voices
didn't think I was at the point where I was still learning things about myself but alright
don't know where the "AC7 EN VAs are cheesy" thing comes from all the major voices are fantastic
AC7 is such a different game from the rest of my gaming experience, I genuinely cannot figure out if I'm just too drunk right now, if I just suck overall (as usual) and need to git gud, or if I just chose the drastically wrong plane or weaponry for the mission and am gimping myself beyond my (meager) ability and would be fine if I could chose planes properly
5 and 0 weren't like this lads
