Day 14
Today, I worked from home to finish evaluating the companies I invested in. I learned a lot through this process and hope to use it in my future endeavors
Day 13
I spent the day entering Ethan’s contacts into the system and completing the list of emails for him. It was a long, boring and difficult journey but I finally finished!!
Day 12
Today, I finished evaluating the stocks in my portfolio and decided which ones to keep and which ones to sell. I also worked on compiling Ethan’s contacts and making a list of their emails!
Day 11
I spent the day evaluating my stock portfolio.
Day 10
Today, I entered more contacts and added to the Facebook invite e-mail list and went to a lunch meeting with Ethan and wholesaler.
Day 8
I finished researching the JFS board members Ethan and continued entering names into the contact list as well as compiling them for a Facebook page invite.
Day 7
Today, I entered more contacts for Ethan and listened to a conference call with some Patriot Financial Group members. I also listened to a phone conversation between him and a wholesaler. Additionally, I continued researching the JFS Board members.
Day 6
Yesterday I did some research on the board of directors at JFS for Ethan’s meeting and prepared for/went to 2 meetings with wholesalers.
Day 5
On Friday, I was immediately immersed in the conversation with Ethan, his teammate from the Patriot Financial Group, his client and her kids. I found this meeting incredibly interesting. To start, I realized that I find strategizing finances really cool. After the meeting, I worked more on the list of charities. I’m glad to have had the weekend off—it was much needed.
Day 4
On Thursday, I formatted an agenda for a meeting Ethan was running on Friday. I also continued working on the client list and helped Ethan set up his website a little bit. Additionally, I researched some charities (by zipcode using GuideStar) that Ethan may be able to get in contact with to partner with them.
Day 3
On Wednesday, I worked from home, cross-referencing LinkedIn, e-mail contacts, and address books to compile a comprehensive list of potential clients for Ethan.
On Tuesday, I went with Ethan to a monthly meeting he attends with a group of people who come together to share ideas and strategies, ask questions and talk through issues, and refer clients to each other. I really liked how the meeting was run; it was organized and productive, but not too serious.
Day 1
On Monday, Ethan and I met with his clients to help them with their finances. It was really cool to get such a hands-on and personal experience with financial planning.
