I noticed there has been a small resurgence of BisonFANG shippers since late last year until now, I might as well put all the links to Tsaiās works here. Her (and Hideakiās) art was the reason why I fell in love with F.A.N.G in the first place, and getting me into the Bison x FANG ship. Tsai had a way to make F.A.N.G look so visually appealing and at the same time retaining his unconventional features that made him so distinctive in games. Itās the perfect combination!

I got a few funny stories about F.A.N.G and Lady Dimitrescu. Months before the release of Resident Evil Village (and after), several people have already made comparisons between them because of big hat and height hehe.

And then when I saw this Teppen card, I had to share it in a group chat.
At the time, a friend didnāt know who Lady Dimitrescu was, so they thought it was F.A.N.G in drag LOL!! Like they legit thought it was FANG, saying the resemblance was uncanny with the long face, long black hair, and wide brimmed hat. It probably didnāt help that thereās purple sparks on one of Lady Dās claws, making her very FANG-like lol. Another friend chimed in, saying F.A.N.G should have been Queen of Shadaloo šššš

Interesting point tho. Now it got me thinking lol. Why didnāt FANG choose AKI for Bison mission? At first I thought because AKIās primary job is to scare or kill people because she is an assassin after allā¦but then FANG also wanted her to find out about Shadaloo remnants and their plans in one of her WT missions, in which she ended up having the avatar do the work for her lol. Also because the subject was about Bison, I think the devs wanted to make it certain that this concerns FANG more than it would AKI because he actually cares about Shadalooā¦and thatās why AKI was absent during Bisonās WT missions. Maybe??
I thought a little bit deeper about this. Perhaps itās because the avatar had an encounter with Experimental Subject Lee, who had information about the ruined Shadaloo lab. FANG kept in touch with Lee, Lee talked about the avatar a lot to him, FANG got interested and wanted the avatar to work for him. I guess because the avatar has direct connections from someone who went inside the lab and is capable of fighting against Psycho Power-infused fighters, thus FANG chose the avatar over AKI because the job fits them better. Plus, the avatar has Psycho Power within them from training under JP or Ed, which was key to powering up the generator in the lab for Bison.
Thereās also the possibility that AKI mightāve been busy on another mission, so FANG needed other options. Thatās just my thoughts tho lol.

The post is super long, but I wanted to write it out on a big platform like Reddit because no one else had. I donāt care about getting a million downvotes. I had to get my thoughts out there. Thereās no guarantee that FANG would come back playable, but this post is meant for FANG supporters to read so that they know heās not deconfirmed (thereās a difference). All the points Iāve made reference official parts of the game and past trends of Street Fighter gaming development.
So if you love FANG, read these posts, give it a thumbs up, and post a nice comment if you want to.
Iām still amazed that a lot of people still love this mod I made.
The idea of this came from fanart of Juri and other characters wearing A.K.I. Outfit 3. Most would think āthis outfit looks stylish, and it would look cool on other characters.ā Yes, it is a stylish outfit and it would look cool on othersā¦Iāll agree on that. For me as someone who loves F.A.N.G, admittedly I have strange feelings seeing such works. My reactions would automatically go, "I wonder if they know the deeper meaning behind this fashion statement?" Knowing the intent of this costume written by the designer, it is an obvious F.A.N.G tribute because of how much A.K.I. loves him. The outfit represents a deep love and respect towards FANG. It is a way to feel worthy to stand next to him and to be closer to him.

There were ideas and talks about putting AKIās Outfit 3 onto other characters as a mod. I had my own thoughts about making it myself. But again, I had mixed feelings because I believe the only person in Street Fighter lore that can wear this outfit is AKI because she loves FANG. If other characters knew the meaning behind this outfit, they would not wear this at all unless theyāre somehow forced to do so.
Many months later, I decided to make it. And I had to be the first one to make it. I thought to myself if another modder were to make a character wearing AKIās Outfit 3, the meaning and intent would be loss. They would not mention about the love for FANG because most often they would not know about the lore behind it, or they would ignore it because they donāt like FANG š. To me, this mod has to be made by someone who understands this costume, even if it contradicts to the actual meaning. If I make this mod, I can tell the world what AKIās Outfit 3 really means.
Also, I like the idea that the love of FANG spreads to anyone who wears this costume. AKIās outfit 3 is already stylish, but reading about the designerās comment about honoring FANG made it a million times better šš

As of now, I believe this is still the only SF6 mod that has AKIās Outfit 3 on another character.
Ingrid is the final character to be implemented into World Tour mode. All DLC characters afterward will be going into Avatar Arcade mode. Stories with loose ends like Falkeās whereabouts, JPās plans for Ed and Bison, and Vega & Balrogās interest in going back to Shadaloo wonāt be fully fleshed out anymore.
Looking retrospectively, Capcom shouldnāt have put too much resources on SNK guest characters in WT mode. Also a lot of the side missions after the Bison update or starting with Elena were kind of aboutā¦nothing? Like itās good for world building like having a device to talk to animals, but it leads to no where when it comes to story. Like a lot of the side missions is just either fighting NPCs or finding stuff, but nothing pertains to the imminent Shadaloo lore. Thinking about it, a lot of the One Fateful Days had very little influence to the main WT plot. Terry and Mai, all about Fatal Fury. Elena, nothing on Secret Society nor Shadaloo. Sagat, hates Shadaloo and wants nothing to do with it. C. Viper, looking into Shadaloo, but rather focus on her daughter, so nothing substantial comes out of it. Alexā¦lmao. Only Ingrid has something to do with the main WTM, but sheās there to change the course of it.
Sure, probably all of the Shadaloo story ended because of time travel. JP being hospitalized before the Nayshall tournament and Ingrid put Bison in his place.
But the point of the time travel is to save Bosch; I donāt know if JP is still going to do shady business in trying to get Ed and Bison together to do some sort of unknown plan after he recovers. That plan was stated by one of FANGās underlings. That being said, what about FANGās plan to revive Shadaloo? Surely thatās not gonna stop him because heās working against JP and he thinks Bison is āimperfectā in his partial amnesiac state.
Now that WT is over, Vega who is most likely coming back for S4 and may be interested in going back to Shadaloo wonāt be able to flesh out the WT story anymore. Then again, maybe because of the time travel stuff, Vegaās story might focus on his relationship with Ignacio in his arcade modeā¦?? I donāt know.
My copium is that when you fight your new master in Avatar Arcade Mode, theyāll at least provide 2 cinematic scenes for said character in their stage or somewhere and add some illustrations for their memories. Like, they could totally do that without putting an entire world tour mode with pointless missions, and just go straight to the meat of it instead. Thats just my thought though.
Itās been almost 2 weeks and people are still upset about the Alex situationā¦and the writers at Capcom didnāt really make things any better after their apology. As for me, I didnāt like Alexās SF6 story direction because I much prefer him and Patricia being step brother and sister. But Iāll be honest that the story stuff didnāt affect me like it did to others because I was never invested in Alex as a character. I liked him, but it was because heās a SF3 representative and thatās about it. Considering that he was a beloved character for almost 30 years and that he gained a lot of fans in the coming days before his official release, I knew his fans are going through a lot of turmoil.
With this fiasco, I have been thinking about my time as a F.A.N.G fan. To be honest, if something like the Alex story ever happens to F.A.N.G and A.K.I. , I would be devastated. In fact, I would HATE it. Thankfully, it didnāt go into that route. Yes, the FANG and AKI relationship is pretty weird (even though I love it) and I even dubbed it as the most bizarre dynamic in Street Fighter (now theyāve been dethroned by Alex and Patricia), but it was at least carefully written. In short, itās all one-sided from AKIās point of view where she has a lot of strong feelings towards FANG (like myself), while FANG sets boundaries between himself and her. FANG sees AKI as a student and a child. Also the fact that FANG has no libido means heās not going to do anything creepy towards AKI, nor anyone for that matter. It may seem like a tragedy for FANG having no capacity for romance, but at the same time it may be a saving grace for him in that Capcom canāt ruin his character in the same way theyāve done to Alex. FANG is evil, but he is also āpureā in that regard.
I would say more about FANG and AKIās dynamic, but itās a lot.
Going back to Alex. Because of his story in SF6, heās now in the midst of negative feedback and reactions. Iāve seen posts like ācousin fāā-,ā āAlex is a gr00m3r,ā and other unsavory things. For the people who arenāt Alex fans, this is all fun and games to them. For those who are Alex fans, itās pure pain and agony. They want the Alex āslanderā to stop. In some ways I can relate to this. Before the whole Alex hullabaloo, I have been feeling down as a FANG fan for quite a while. Every time I search for FANG content online, Iād often run to some sort of negative comment or slander about my fave. Itās usually āFANG sux,ā āAKI is way better,ā āFANG got replaced and will never be playable again,ā āAKI should leave and forget about FANG.ā Iād often think to myself that itās hard being a FANG fan in recent times, especially that heās not playable in the current game and has yet to make a real comeback. Iād also think that FANG deserves a better fandom that embraces his qualities instead of bashing them. Thus, I somewhat stopped looking for FANG content online and just solely visiting Atgrbread, Milach3a, Testasase, Otsuyu, and other FANG appreciatorsā accounts because I know I wonāt see malicious content from them. People would tell me thereās better characters than FANG. Although that is true, thereās no other Street Fighter character that makes me as satisfied as with FANG.
Now with the Alex mess, I think Alex fans now feel the way I have felt with FANG (or more likely the fan reactions towards my fave)ā¦except the magnitude and scale is much more intense for Alex. The reactions are a lot more explosive, angrier, sadder, and the mockery cuts much deeper. Being an Alex fan āprobablyā hurts more than being a FANG fan these days. I donāt know if I should feel relieved by that or not. But I do wish for the best for those who love Alex.
