@remyblake
caleb reed:
“Sometimes, but I don’t think innocents the word. Maybe too nice on occasion? Sometimes I worry I let things roll off me too easily, don’t stick up for myself. What about you?” He questioned, curious for her answer. They were so much alike, it was no wonder they’d garnered a close friendship, even if she did have her eyes sharply on his brother. “Maybe practice on this idiot. Pretend their a stupid patient at the hospital, or even Channing if you’d like. Then, boom. Instant sass.” As if he could easily do it, which he knew he couldn’t. “It’s blessed genetics I suppose.” Though he couldn’t help the blush creep on his face again. “Not really no. There hasn’t been a ton happening in that department, I’ve been focusing on Mase mostly.”
“Like a pushover? Yeah, same. I definitely have felt my fair share of that. Which is crazy like, look who your brother is and who my father was. How did we turn out this way? I feel kind of dumb because of it.” Not that she was against being a nice person. She liked who she was and all those qualities she possessed. But she also felt like it got in the way of things. “No, I don’t want to do that to him. I should just block him and never speak to him, really.” It took only a few minutes for her to change her mind. Which was why she tried not to do things so quickly and irrationally. “Right, Mase, duh. Sometimes I forget you’re a dad...well, not forget but. You know what I mean. Since it still feels so fresh somedays. How’s he doing? Or better yet, how are you?”
caleb reed:
“I think we balance them out. They need us, Rem. Otherwise they’d be god awful people with no friends at all.” He was kidding, but he did mean the part about them needing each other. Friendships were always a balance. “Strategic.” He repeated, letting out a long laugh. “I don’t know why you think you can’t snap back on someone over the phone. You’re evil is what you are. Case and point right there with using my favorite foods against me.” He had to ignore the cute butt comment, for his own sanity. His eyes widened just a little and part of him regretted not taking her up on the offer, but he had to stay strong. “Most, I think. It’s not like I’m sending it out randomly so that probably saves me from being a creep.”
“Okay, you’re right. They need a little innocence in their lives. Ever worry that we’re too innocent? We’re like fragile butterflies it feels like sometimes.” So she had shifted the conversation a bit. Making it a little more serious. But that wasn’t new. They always had their little heart to hearts. “Oh come on, it’s only with you. You bring out some spunk in me. But the minute I would try to snap at someone over text, I’d freak out and erase it. I can’t do it. I can only snap at like... dumb patients at the hospital...and Channing.” Which she had done the other day when she saw her for the first time. “It also helps that you’re hot as hell. Something about you Reed boys, I swear. But anyway, you still talking to any of those girls? What’s going on in that love life of yours? You always hear me talking about your brother, now it’s your turn to share.”
dana abrams:
“There’s no chance you would be the only one crying,” Dana said, hoping it’d make Remy feel better. Plus it was fairly true, too. Dana was known to get quite emotional over movies and tv shows and especially youtube videos of dogs reuniting with their owners, so it was no surprise that tears did make their way down her cheeks at some point. Reaching for the popcorn, Dana stuffed her face since she thought that might distract her heart enough to stop the waterworks for a bit. However, when the conversation lingered on Channing, Dana had to think for a moment before answering. Because it was complicated, to say the least. “What I really want is to be with her –– hold her hand, make her laugh, bring her vegan cookies that I know she’ll hate ––” She sighed, forcing herself out of that daydream and back into reality, “But it’s hard to look past everything you know? She was my first love and my first heartbreak. I can forgive her but giving things another go means trusting she won’t do it again and I don’t think I’m quite there yet is what I’m saying” She shrugged her shoulders in defeat. Besides, she didn’t even know how Channing felt after all these years. Give their run in Dana could tell the blonde felt guilty about things and wanted to make things right, but there was no indication that she wanted to start their relationship over. When Remy pointed out Jamie Fitzpatrick though, Dana couldn’t help but let out a faint laugh because even she knew how ridiculous it all sounded. “They’re not on my mind,” She said, rolling her eyes nonchalantly until she realized just how much they had actually been on her mind. “God no. Is anything ever serious with Jamie?” Her guess was no. “It was nothing, it was just dinner or whatever and it was really sweet and I guess it was just nice to feel appreciated by someone again.”
“Is that so? Does that mean you’ll be joining me on the cry session during Jersey Shore? Because if so then I think that means our friendship has propelled to a whole new level.” Truly, she couldn’t help the laughter that soon followed. Remy had no shame in crying over certain things. She was an emotional person and well, that came out at the most random times. All she could really do was embrace it, honestly. It didn’t help right now that the topic of Channing wasn’t an easy pill to swallow for the blonde, though. She was already a mess from the movie, now this added discussion was just gonna weigh heavy on her. “But how will you know if you’re gonna get there if you don’t take that leap, ya know? I mean, like I just said, you gotta be willing to possibly get hurt if it means getting another shot at something epic. Do you really want her to be one of your biggest what ifs?” Now that was coming from experience because that’s exactly what Channing was to Remy. Her biggest what if. Of course, talking about her now, Remy had to try and push away her own feelings. She wasn’t a selfish person, not outwardly, and well, she tried not to be inward either, but in some cases, it was difficult. “No? Then why bring it up? Or go on the date even? Hmm?” She cooed, teasing her about it a bit. Remy knew Jamie fairly well. The Fitzpatrick family was like family to her as well. So it was actually kinda cool getting to hear it from Dana’s side. “Well...is there another date then? Have you been talking to them? I mean, they can be serious if they want...why not give it a shot? Unless you prefer to give that shot to Channing? Or are you kinda torn between the two right now?”
olivia porter:
LOCATION: The Beach WITH: @remyblake
There was nothing like the warm, summer sun or the sand between one’s toes to spur a moment of total relaxation in the midst of a crazy life. Liv had her head in Remy’s lap and partly in the clouds, while the other blonde played with her hair, and the rest of her body was sprawled out on a towel, trying to soak up the sun. So far, their trip to the beach had been quiet and peaceful. And very much needed. At least for Liv, who was flipping through the pages of a magazine, until she settled on July’s latest horoscopes. “Ooh, here we go.” Liv spotted hers, – a cancer – and vaguely read parts of it to Remy aloud, “The Sun gives you a big dose of confidence this month, so trust your intuition and strike while the iron is hot!” The mere mention of the sun, forces Olivia to turn her sunglassed gaze toward it, only to steal a quick glance at Remy thereafter, “I have no idea what the heck that means. Let’s read yours. What’s your sign? Or your birthday. I feel like, I should know this.”
This was yet another one of her attempts to be more social and have somewhat of a life. Before Remy’s mid-year-resolution, she would’ve picked up extra shifts over the weekend or stayed cooped up inside her apartment. But she was really trying here and luckily, there were people like Olivia in her life that made it a hell of a lot easier to actually go out and enjoy herself. She felt comfortable and at ease, which wasn’t the norm all the time. Dare she admit it, but being outside usually gave her a bit of anxiety—this, however, was as relaxing as it came. And she enjoyed just laying there with Olivia resting on her while they took in the warm summer air. “Strike while the iron is hot? Uh oh, what’s going on in your life that you need to take quick action on? Anything you’re avoiding maybe?” She said so in a teasing voice, trying to be playful with the other blonde. “Ah, I don’t know about that, I’m not exactly big into birthdays. But uh, August 18th. I’m a Virgo and like every part of screams Virgo too, it’s terrible.”
caleb reed:
“That’s because Aly and Jolie are actually good at that. You’re stuck with Mr. Nice Guy, sorry.” Groaning at the mention of Chili’s, he put his lower lip out in a pout. “That’s extremely rude, Rem. Holding those delicious things over my head, making me go against what my Mama always taught me.” He couldn’t help the laugh came as she told him to drop trow right then and there. “What part of ‘best friends shouldn’t see each other’s junk’ didn’t you get?” He could feel the blush on his cheeks flame up, even as he was still laughing at this entire debacle. “Well yeah, because in theory the girl is the reason you’ve got the hard on to take a picture of. So there, appreciation. Like ‘this is what you do to me’.” This was beyond awkward for him. Especially knowing how she felt about Logan.
“We really are the worst, aren’t we? How do our friends put up with us?” She chuckled before leaning back to lay her head in his lap. Her blue hues looking up directly at him as she spoke. “Not rude, strategic. I know how to win you over. Awful of me, I know, but you bet your cute butt I’m gonna use it against you all the time.” Truthfully, she wouldn’t, but she liked to joke even over small, silly things. “Okay, fine, fine. We don’t have to share nudes. But you’re missin’ out bud, because I would’ve shown you mine and then you’d really be missing out.” Of course, that was simply a joke. And she was able to say because of who he was to her. He knew everything about her. Right down to being crazy for his brother. “I guess that makes sense. I didn’t think of it like that. The girls you send it to pretty receptive? Do you get good ones back? I’m still gonna want details, even if I don’t get to look.”
caleb reed:
“I don’t know how you think I’m any better than you are at this. Whenever people heckle me at a show, I smile and thank them back for it. Am I really the candidate to help you be mean to someone?” Caleb shook his head, even after being tempted by takeout. “You could send him a dick pic back in return. That’d spice it up a little.” Letting out a laugh, he gave a one shouldered shrug. “Yeah, I don’t know what it’s supposed to do. Definitely different than us getting a picture. I look at it more of as I’m sending a little reminder of my appreciation rather than something for her to use.” Making sure his phone was in his pocket, he took a step back from her. “Because, you’re my best friend. And best friends shouldn’t see the other’s dick.”
“Yes, you are right now. If it were any other situation and Aly or Jolie were here, then I’d ask them. But I’m stuck with you, mister, so you gotta help me out! Or I’m not buying you Chili’s and I know how much you love those honey Chipotle chicken crispers, kay?!” She was only playing with him, and obviously so with the tone of her voice. “See, we can totally do that! But! You gotta give me a pic of yours. Come drop your pants, let’s take one.” For some reason, it was just so easy for her to ask this of him. They were best friends and she felt more comfortable with him than a lot, so it came easier. “...did you just say you send dick pics as a reminder of your appreciation!? What?! What does that even mean!” Her mouth dropped and she quickly shook her head in confusion. “Says who? I feel like that’s a good enough reason. But fine, it’s okay. If you don’t want me to see what’s under there, then I won’t. I won’t be pushy. Even if I really want to see those pics.”
logan reed:
“I’m just doing my job as your best friend,” Logan quickly replied to Remington’s latest compliment and realization with a wide grin spread across his plump lips. “Definitely can’t have that in your life. You deserve a gentleman with a normal sized penis.” He added not too long after. He would do just about anything for the blonde and if she asked him to swipe on more guys for her, he would even if he knew they weren’t right for her. “If you were interested in that non-existent dick pic, we’d be having a very different conversation right now.” He chuckled before trying to imagine how different it would really have been. After a moment or two, a new question to what she said prior popped into his head. “What is your type, by the way? I know I should know this, but just update me for fun.”
“A gentleman with a normal-sized penis.” Repeating the words back caused a fit of laughter to escape her lips. God, this conversation was a new one. Not one she felt uncomfortable with by any means, but definitely new. “Oh trust me, I’m not interested in that. I don’t even think I’m interested in a regular dick pic. Like, why wants one of those? No offense to you...as I’m sure you’ve sent plenty.” She teased. “But ew.” Not that she wasn’t a fan of the male anatomy, but pictures of it weren’t always that great. “I’m sorry?” Her brows then cocked up at his question, feeling a little hesitant on what to say. Especially considering her type was well...the person asking the question. “God, I have no idea. I don’t know...someone...nice, I guess?” she began, laughing at her own fumbling of words. “I don’t know! That’s a hard question to answer. I mean, I like guys who make me laugh and hug me like a giant teddy bear. Oh! Someone who watches scary movies with me and doesn’t judge when I put my hands in front of my face the whole time. I don’t know. I’m not picky. I just like good people and people who make me smile.” Like Logan. Logan...he made her smile a lot.
weston taylor:
"You ain’t a mess. That actually sounds like somethin’ nice to have.” For the very least Weston couldn’t have agreed more considering much of her checklist had been on his as well. He was a romantic at heart, craving that affection and intimacy with someone who also could double as your best friend. The thought alone would make anyone’s heart hammer in their chest if that had been something they wanted out of life. For Weston, it had been quite a few failed attempts, which prompted him to where he had ended up now. Father of a teenager, unmarried with the only new additions to his family being a chocolate lab. “Though I ain’t much to go off of… somethin’ tells me you ain’t gonna find that on some app.”
At his words, Remy gave him a small, sheepish smile. It did sound nice. The only downside was that she wanted it with someone she couldn’t have. Logan had Sirena and as much as she wanted Logan, she wasn’t about to try and take him for herself. So she’d just sit there and continue to feel something for him from afar. “No, you’re completely right. I’m not. I guess I’m just using it to pass time. I don’t know.” She let out a small laugh. “But enough about me, let’s talk about you! Your love life or work or family or I don’t know. Anything. What’s going on with you, hmm?”
TESSA 📱 REMY
TESSA: https://dogtime.com/assets/uploads/2019/06/australian-shepherd-puppy-5-1280x720.jpg
TESSA: Do you think adopting a dog after a major life-changing surgery is a sign I have completely lost it?
REMY: You do realize you're asking the wrong person, right?! Because I think to adopt a dog at any point in your life, regardless of life-changing surgery, is 100000% a great idea.
REMY: Look at that face. Tessa, if that boy isn't there next time I come over, I'm gonna be so sad. Just sayin'
tyler redfield:
“I’m not angry.” Tyler mumbled, although he was well aware as to why his neighbour had come to such a conclusion. He couldn’t help it though, even if he knew it had to upset her. “I’m just coffee deprived.” He added as he took a new cup and poured himself coffee. The sooner his bad mood would disappear, the better it seemed it would be- for everyone involved.
“Right, sorry I just...you know what, nevermind.” The blonde quickly shook her head to brush it off. She wasn’t good with people coming across upset and honestly, that’s how she was reading the situation. Sometimes she read wrong, though and she knew that. “Well, hopefully now that you’ve got a good amount coming in now, you’ll be just fine, right? Did you uh, want anything with that? I can whip ya up something or....somthing.”
caleb reed:
“I think you absolutely have to be mean back. Unsolicited dick pics are the world’s curse. And this is coming from an owner of an offending dick.” Caleb’s brows rose as she seemed to question him. “Doesn’t every guy send them? It’s one of the easiest things to do that you hope gets a girl excited, I guess. Though I promise they were all requested.” He let himself be pushed back, laughing as this conversation turned. “Hell no you can’t see them! It’s private. Between me and the girls who’ve seen.”
“Okay but I’m not good at that, so you gotta do it then! Please? I’ll repay you with food. Like food from a restaurant, so you don’t have to eat my crappy home cooking. So please, tell him off for me. I’ll love you forever.” Granted, she already did and he knew that, but she was still gonna offer it up anyway. “But see, that’s the thing. I don’t know that many girls that get excited by those pics. What are we gonna do with it? Jack it? Nah. We need porn for that, not a still picture of a hard-on.” Maybe she was different though because that simply wasn’t her cup of tea. “What do you mean, I can’t?! And wait, who’s seen them? I’m sorry, I’m your best friend...why can’t I see them?!”
naomi owens:
“Mm, maybe you’re right, but still.” She was technically still a baby if it was left up to her brothers to decide. She was only thirty three but despite that, she felt late in the game. So ironically, Naomi was feeling both way too old and a tad bit young in the same breath. “Well, we can say next on that easily.” She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. “And, it’s totally easy. You can figure out their accounts when they think they’e cool nd connect their Instagram. Then well, it’s like falling down into the rabbit’s hole with the jack pot. You get their last name, you find their Facebook, then you’re finding their Mama who’s posting family photos and you’re able to ruin his entire year.” Naomi waved her phone as if she was about to go on the hunt, but wondered if she should cut the poor sucker a break. “I find it a little hard you have the inability to act like the total knockout you are.” She said, brow ticked. “Plus, if you have time for a drink with me, ain’t it the same as multitasking and scoping out what the town has to offer? I mean come on. I’m an awesome wing-woman.”
“No but still!” The blonde was quick to shoot down with a string of laughter to follow. She wasn’t about to let Naomi think she was old, even in the slightest of ways. Though she had to admit, she sort of understood. With the big 3-0 coming up, Remy was terrified of getting older. Which was crazy considering it wasn’t even old, to begin with. “Wait, hold up,” she began, shaking her head softly with both hands up. “Okay, why do I get the feeling you do this often?” Remy couldn’t exactly say she was new to that though. Maybe not in the same situation, but she had found herself looking up people here there. Mainly cute patients that come through and who she’d look up on Facebook to pass time when they were gone. Not exactly the best thing to do, but hey, she was human and that was normal in this day and age. “Now you’re just talkin’ crazy lady. Have you had too much to drink?!” She chuckled, trying to hide the red in her cheeks that happened every time someone tried to compliment her. “Yeah but I’m not trying to date you. Not that you’re not great and all, because I’d be lucky to call you mine, but... I don’t know! It’s easier when you’re having a fun conversation with someone and not wondering if something could potentially form between the two of you! Awesome wing-woman or not, I still have no idea what to say like...ever. And if you’re there too, being all perfectly you, you really think they’re even gonna notice me?! Please!”
kevin hoffman:
Kevin listened as Remy let him in on what was really going on in her mind when it came to turning thirty. He’d had an inkling but as the floodgates opened and the truth came out, he felt a strong urge to reach out and pull her in for a hug but knew that could just make everything worse and he didn’t want that. It was upsetting to think she was behind or lacking in any area when he never thought of her in that way—to him, she was just Remy: the same person he absolutely adored spending time with. “Remy, there’s no time limit on these things. I know society likes to shove a ‘normal’ down our throats but it’s not the case, alright? And as for the other stuff…” Kevin sighed out, gesturing to her and rolling his eyes. “You haven’t felt love or passion ‘cause you haven’t found someone whose even close to being worthy. Which means you’ve never settled for something or someone. Which, to me, sounds like you know yourself a lot better than most people.” Allowing his words to settle, the blonde’s mouth turned up into a warm smile and he sincerely hoped that his words would offer some sort of comfort because he had meant every single one of them. “Psh, please—if I make it onto CNN interviewing myself then you better believe I’m bringing you with me. Maybe we’d become, like…a meme!” Catching onto the girl’s smile and hearing her words, he gave a confident nod of his head and put all his trust in her. “Alright, deal. We end the night on molten lava cake—but first, more scooby snacks,” he paused, picking up the empty shot glass and catching the bartender’s attention. “Four more, kind sir.”
It wasn’t exactly the time and place to be talking like this. Remy was simply looking for a fun night out and welp, now she was ruining it by sharing how she truly felt about everything going on. She hadn’t exactly talked about it with anyone. All people really knew was that she was interested in having a little fun but not the reason behind it. Now, however, Kevin was getting all that first hand and she felt a little bad considering they were just supposed to be enjoying themselves tonight. “Aw, Kev, I appreciate this, I do. I’m sorry you didn’t sign up to be my therapist for the evening, so I’m sorry. Though, I will say that... I don’t know if it’s me knowing myself because honestly, I don’t know who I am. At least, I don’t feel like I do. How is anyone supposed to know who they are? Because right now I feel like I’m just this complete failure in life. What do I have to say for myself, ya know? I live in the same shitty apartment that I grew up in. I do the same thing every day. I’ve never even let the state. I feel like I messed up along the way and now it might be too late.” And that was why she was pushing him to do something crazy tonight like parasailing. Because she felt obligated to. She felt like this was what people did. They went out, they got drunk and they made memories they’d carry with themselves forever. And well, Remy didn’t have too many memories like that. But wanted them. “A meme!? Oh god, is that your ultimate goal or something? Are you pulling a Snoop Dogg or something right now and waiting for the moment where someone turns you into a meme?!” Despite part of their conversation being so serious, Remy couldn’t help but laugh at that bit. However, knowing their luck together, they would be turned into a meme. “This is why we get along so well, you know that? You embrace my obsession with food that I’m going to regret eating later on. So thank you for not judging me for being a human vacuum for junk.”
khalil amari:
Khalil wanted to laugh, but… the truth was, he was too ashamed to do so. Honestly, he’d been the one receiving it too, not that it mattered. “So, what did you expect? Romantic quotes, dirty pick-up lines – compliments about your ass?” There were enough dating apps nowadays to choose your own type. From horny, broke singles to elite folks in search of true love. Pursing his lips, he slowly nodded to her words. She was sweet, not to mention beautiful, so it was no surprise to experience some craziness. “You’ll learn how to pick ‘em eventually. Maybe not swipe on those faceless six-packs, no?”
“None of the above.” When it came to an app like this, she should’ve just expected this. But Remy wanted to see the good in everything, so she tried to do that here. “I don’t know, really. Someone to talk to. It’s easier to talk to strangers online I think. At least, for me it is.” They didn’t know her, might never meet her. It was just easier. Simple. “Hey now, I didn’t swipe over some six-pack. I did it because of the dog in the pictures. It was a cute dog and I’m a sucker for cute animals, alright?”
channing dryden:
Channing was getting reacquainted with her hometown, revisiting all her favorite places and just generally looking for inspiration (and more places to sell her pottery). The Fitzpatrick Deli used to be one of her faves before she moved to New York for school and she was craving one of their paninis. She was actually pretty excited up until the point when she literally ran right into Remy Blake. “It’s fi–,” she stopped mid-word, looking at her friend’s face as it changed from apologetic to irritated. Yet another person she had wronged that probably hated her guts right about now. The blonde sighed deeply, just as annoyed at this encounter as Remy obviously was. She just wanted to get her damn panini and get on with her day. “I’m afraid it is.” While Dana’s anger at seeing her again had been tame and restrained, Remy’s was anything but. Chan immediately went into defensive mode by crossing her arms over her chest and scoffing at her question. “Am I not allowed to get a panini at my favorite deli? Or do you mean what I am doing back here? In that case, I graduated school and moved back here.” Honestly it was no wonder that they had managed to avoid each other so far, Wilmington wasn’t that small a city and they frequented much of the same places. “Alright, lay it on me, what are you pissed about? I’ve been on an apology tour since coming back, so you might as well be the next stop.”
To be honest, seeing Channing again was not an easy thing to process. Remy was a little in overhead when it came to the blonde and she thought for sure she’d never see her again. It was easier that way too. She didn’t have to face all those feelings from before and didn’t have to come to terms with how incredibly she was hurt by Channing, but also how incredibly stupid she was for even being hurt. After all, it’s not like Channing was all that aware of what was going on...so. “Of course I mean back here. When did you come back?” They both had their own lives now. Years and years had passed. This wasn’t high school anymore and honestly, most people would’ve moved on by now. However, given what Channing meant to her and that she was one of the closest things Remy had to falling completely in love with someone, it was really no surprise that there was still a wound on her heart that was caused by their separation. “Really? That’s what I get? Wonderful.” Though, she kind of asked for it. If Remy was going to be snappy, then Channing really didn’t have to put up with her childish behavior. “Though, can’t say I’m surprised with the need for an apology tour. How many bridges did you burn anyway? Surely, I’m not the only one you just up and left?” So she was bitter and while it wasn’t like Remy to act this way, when it came to Channing and the feelings she had for the girl, well...it meant she was gonna act a little irrational. “You say that with such genuine concern though. Really makes me want to talk to you, yep.” She deadpanned. “You’re a real piece of work, Chan. Guess that’s one thing that never changed.”
