issa haircut 💇🏻
okay, so haircuts aren't really that big of a deal.. but kinda. especially if you haven't had one in a couple of years. and i haven't had short hair in an extremely long time. i can't believe i'm writing a blog about my haircut. this may be one of those things that should go in my diary and not on tumblr, but i don't have a diary, so here we are. also, i've been thinking about it nonstop, so i'ma white girl for a minute. to some people, it's a solid comfort. it's part of you and part of your personality and when it's gone, you change. and although that may be a little dramatic, it is undeniably liberating. it's a huge change to your appearance, which for some is traumatizing. i thought i would wake up the next day and just be devastated, but instead i had the complete opposite reaction. i woke up and felt like i was ten steps closer to the freedom i came chasing out here. but the bigger question is, why are we so possessive over something such as hair? i have seen people cry and be literally in a state of depression after cutting their hair. has society shaped us into people that care that much solely on our appearance? don't get me wrong, i loved my hair (some would call it conceited, but whatever) and to an extent, i was very attached. if i was still in tennessee, i would never have cut it off. but i moved half way across the country, and this is my year change. change is a good thing. besides, it's just hair. it'll grow back, right?
