In for my yearly mammogram - boy have I not missed the waiting rooms and hospital gowns. Exactly two years ago today at 11:30am, I received the earth-shattering news that I had cancer. Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma was the diagnoses and it became a whirlwind of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and other treatments that still effect my life today. My my my what a year and a half will do! One of the side effects of chemotherapy is hair loss, as most people know. What you might not know is that the hair that grows back can be a completely different color, texture, volume, etc. Today, I am fully embracing my "chemo curls" and just being overall grateful for having survived breast cancer.
