Took some photos at Tower Hamlets Cemetery this weekend. It closed for burials in 1966 and now exists as a nature reserve full of alarmingly young dead Victorians.

Ouija Board Cuff Bracelet in Copper

This ouija board bracelet is made of copper, hand cut and polished; its a dimensional piece, with the lighter areas raised and the darker ones recessed.

My ouija board bracelets are up on Etsy! I’m not 100% thrilled with the photos because the day ended up being way more overcast than the internet promised, but I’ll retake more soon–since every cuff is a bit different, I like to show multiple pieces in my listings.

These should easily fit 5.5″-7.5″ wrists and there’s probably a bit of wiggle room for people slightly larger than that, but I do intend to offer multiple sizes soon. Let me know if that’s something you’re interested in and, if you want to be super helpful, what size you’d need.

Went on a Green Chain walk on Sunday that took us to the remains of Lesnes Abbey, which was founded in 1178. Nowadays it appears to be a popular place for the local teenagers to go and get high, because OF COURSE IT IS. It was also a great location for taking pictures of my new ouija board bracelets. They should be up on Etsy tomorrow!

MENTALLY ILL WOMAN TASED TO DEATH WHILE SHACKELED, BEATEN, AND HANDCUFFED

Natasha Mckenna, a mentally ill woman who died after a stun gun was used on her at the Fairfax County jail in February, was restrained with handcuffs behind her back, leg shackles and a mask when a sheriff’s deputy tasered her four times, incident reports obtained by The Washington Post show.

Six members of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, dressed in white full-body biohazard suits and gas masks, arrived and placed a wildly struggling 130-pound McKenna into full restraints, their reports state. But when McKenna wouldn’t bend her knees so she could be placed into a wheeled restraint chair, a lieutenant delivered four 50,000-volt shocks from the Taser, enabling the other deputies to strap her into the chair. 

Minutes later, she stopped breathing. Days later, she died.

The truth is, though, that police have been covering up the real details on Natasha’s death for months. And, even after all of this, police are not quite clear on why Natasha McKenna was even jailed in the first place. On the day she was arrested, she had actually called the police herself to report being assaulted and appeared to be struggling mightily with mental illness before she bounced around between hospitals and jails for days.

Nothing has happened to the officers yet.

Fun reminder to my UK followers about why they should vote Green.

They want to make university free for all UK citizens.

They want to give a £70 universal income for all members of society.

They want to make the UK run completely on renewable energy.

They want to ban harmful animal testing and battery farming.

They want to double the amount spent on scientific research.

They want to keep the NHS public.

They want to make the work week 35 hours as standard. That’s a 4 day work week, not 5.

You should vote Green. I don’t know what more to say.

Really enjoyed this UK politics quiz. It thoroughly explains the policies for each party and you then shortlist and choose. Really glad to see the responses for my local area. I would love to see the green party do better this year, perhaps form a coalition with Labour.
