“well, liz, my dear - give me a call if you hear wedding bells with teresa, okay? it sucks that things didn’t work out before - but it looks like you found something even more beautiful. congratulations.” anastasia hughes - better known as stacey - hugged her previous and prospective client before casually walking away, a flute of champagne in her hand. of course, it broke her heart to see that elizabeth was getting a divorce - her wedding had been beautiful, and she and charles had seemed so in love at the time.. but she was in good spirits, because elizabeth had fallen in love anew, and stacey was a fool for love, always hoped that the flame would always burn, even in the heaviest of rains. she’s startled, a bit, when she’s graced with the presence of a mutual friend. anaya - whose last name escapes her - a rather well known divorce lawyer in the area. she laughs a little. “i should’ve expected to see you here. after all, liz only ever wants the best in the business.” she giggles a bit, eyes squinting up in the corners. “not quite my favorite. i prefer engagement parties, unsurprisingly. this isn’t too terrible, however. i can feel the love between elizabeth and teresa in the air - it’s palpable.”
anastasia always reminded anaya of a sickeningly sweet cross between aphrodite and a cherub. she had met plenty of wedding and event planners, yet none of them seemed so easily intoxicated on the fumes of love as miss hughes did. she couldn't help but quirk a brow at the compliment from the gorgeous blonde. their businesses were practically life and death to each other, it was almost bizarre to receive accolades from a wedding planner. "i suppose that's why she picked both of us for our vastly different services," she mused, a slightly mocking lilt dripping from her voice. the smirk that was painted upon her tanned features only grew as she went to sit down next to the blonde. "unfortunately, i don't think there's going to be a wedding there." shifting back a little bit in her seat, anaya crossed her legs and sighed. "there's something about teresa i just don't trust. call it my lawyer's intuition." that was only the vague explanation. truthfully, she was convinced her client's new paramour was after her money, but she would never actually say that outloud. "you, however... you look good enough to fall in love with tonight. perhaps the next wedding you'll be planning will be your own."
