Orion was almost glad he kissed her before she’d have too much time to try and tell him otherwise. Compliments never really settled well with him, maybe it was just because it had been so long since he’s been given one and also maybe the fact he could never believe the other person. El sounded so sincere though, he almost wished he had let her say more. On some level he ached to hear them. Goose bumps rise up as he feels her laugh against his skin despite her breath being warm. It was an odd sensation but he didn’t mind. Orion tilts his neck to give her better access, she had found one of his weaknesses. They continue to go through the motions, her pressed up against him and him still pulling her closer. As she pulls away to face him he takes the opportunity to pull her onto his lap. “You don’t have to apologize.” He continues to speak softly as their lips brush together.

“apologizing is what i do, orion. it’s who i am.” she’s joking, smiling against his lips as they aren’t quite kissing, but it’s close. she steals a chaste kiss from him before she ducks back into the crook of his neck, remembering something from before about him liking when she kissed there. testing things out, her lips press a little more firmly where his neck meets his shoulder, and trail lazily against the skin in that area. she can take her time, she can be soft with him. this is orion, after all, and she doesn’t know what’s going on entirely, but she knows that it doesn’t have to be difficult. she’s allowed to enjoy this. finally, she stops kissing his neck and rests her forehead against his, her eyes closed for a moment and she smilles soft, blissful. “don’t worry, i played fair. no hickeys, i promise.”

“It works out, I’m not much of a person at all. You make up for that.” Orion joked, always using himself as the punchline. His lips settled into a soft smile as he listens to her talk, their faces still close. “It’s more than okay.” He punctuated his sentences by bringing their lips back together, starting to deepen the kiss this time. Her fingers in his hair made him feel nice, almost warm even. He couldn’t remember the last time he had been touched this tenderly. Orion’s smile stays on his lips as the brunette pulled away again. He looked at her with curiosity, waiting for her next move. But before he could even guess her lips were on his jaw. He rolled his bottom lip between his teeth, as she trailed kisses, enjoying the moment. “It’s very nice.” His words were soft and drawn out, this was so so good. He gently runs his hand down her back and pulls her closer, wanting more and more of this moment with her.

“Are you joking?” Her brows furrow for a second, shaking her head. “You’re enough, Ori. You’re great.” She means it, but before she can make sure that he knows that he’s already kissed her, and she supposes that means it’s not a debate, which she can respect. It’s only a few moments later when she’s giggling against his skin, intoxicated by his skin and he says it’s very nice. She’s focusing on the dip between his jawline and his neck, peppering it with kisses and fighting the urge to give leave him with bruised love bites; they’re too old for that, aren’t they? His hand down her back makes her shiver, and she presses her body a little tighter against his, enjoying the softness of his caress and the gentle tones of their voices. Elsie had always liked things easy like this, slow and meticulous. She moves a hand to the side of his neck, to gently hold as she moved to be face to face with him once again. “Sorry,” she says sheepishly. “I know my hands are cold.” And her lips brush his, not quite a kiss, but not not one, either.

He felt bad, he could tell his reaction upset her. She was just trying to be cute in her own quirky way, but that’s one of the things he admired about her, that she’s not afraid to be weird. So he gladly let her pull him close, getting comfortable with her again, reminding himself to let down the walls just a little. “I’m sorry, I’ll stay close for the night if you stay away from the memes. I mean they’re kind of cute, but they’re kind of a lot sometimes.” He admitted, and he could help but let his lips curl into a soft smile that felt quite foreign to him. “It’s ok.” He said, his tone was soft and he smiled into the kiss as she took control and brought their lips together. Something about this felt so pure in away he hadn’t experienced before.

“I’m kind of a lot as a person.” Elsie responded, laughing it off although she was aware that she could be quite obnoxious. “I’m glad it’s okay.” She responds, a small smile mirroring his before they’re finally kissing and she feels her heart immediately begin to speed, her face warming up and her fingers carding through his hair. She withdraws after a moment, her lips trailing across his jaw again. “This is nice, Ori. Don’t you think?” She’d mumble against his ear. She didn’t know what this was, but she liked it. It reminded her of the better parts of their relationship.

Her reaction to his use of a pet name seemed a bit off, but decided to ignore it. “Well I’m glad we’re on the same page.” Orion loved her confidence, even if it was just playful. He was a bit shocked when he realized he was thinking about something he loved about her. Even if it was just in his head, it still felt too much. Was he already getting attached to her? The idea made him uncomfortable, but before he could get too stuck in his head he felt her lips on his jaw causing his lips to curl into a content smile until she spoke again. The moment he heard her reference to the terrible meme and moved away. “What the fuck El? Stop it.” He said, only somewhat playfully. He shook his head at her for ruining a nice moment.

Her face falls into a slight pout for a moment when he moved away from her, but she’s trying to be better about how sensitive she is, so she tugs him back towards her, scooting closer at the same time so that the two of them are scandalously close. “No, come on. Don’t move away. I’ll stop with the memes for tonight. I promise.” She places a hand, soft, on his cheek, and gives him a rare, truly sincere smile. “I’m sorry, ‘kay?” And she pulls him in to kiss him. That was why she was there, right?

Orion smiled when he saw the drink in her hand, taking his when she handed it over. El was full of delightful surprises. “First you don’t keep me waiting and then you bring me a treat. I think I might definitely have to keep you around.” He says smiling as he follows her to the couch and plops down next to her. He takes a sip as he get comfortable, “Thanks babe.” Orion pulls her close, kissing her cheek. “You’re the best.”

brows quirk at him at babe, but she smiles anyway. she likes it, but hearing the pet name brings to the forefront of her mind the are we, aren’t we? aspect of their pseudo-relationship. “i know i am.” she says, disregarding her thoughts and shooting him a grin as his lips grace her cheek. “i’m a pleasure to have around, a gift, really.” and then her lips find his face - the edge of his jaw where it connects to his ear, and she kisses the pressure point there before she whispers a sweet nothing to him.

“honey nut.”

“I told you I’d be here shortly.” She grins when he opens the door, holding a taco bell sierra mist freeze in one hand, which she sips on now, and she extends the baha breeze mountain dew one towards him. “thought i’d surprise you with something sweet. besides me, i mean.” she grins at him, ducking into the home and then sitting on his sofa. “... you’re welcome.”
