i'll definitely get slimed for saying this but i absolutely love isaness like aughh their opposites are so balanced. honestly no, i'm not like some people who ship characters by just their looks (yeah there are people who do this) or by how they look fit together; i love getting into the character's dynamics and logic and just write about it.

i will give some reasonings below ↓

★ their lack of communication: this makes them pretty hard to communicate leading them to a distorted bond wether both of them can't give a specific name (yes ness do consider isagi as a rival but he doesn't even know what's on his mind or what is he trying to do);

★ their misunderstanding: this is the fact i love the most. ness does feel hatred but isagi tries miserably to give him indirect reasons to change his mind. this creates a complicated tie between the two;

★ their different mindsets: isagi is a character who goes with logic while ness is a character who wants to get completely dragged and lead. even the opposition ness still found a way to not get attached even if isagi is the person he wants to become (due to kaiser's admiration). ness is literal jealousy hid under an harsh personality;

★ their complete "wronged" view of eachother: they both have two drastic views that are the literal opposite on how the plot sees them;

ness: (plot) usually seen as kaiser's "dog", his servant, a wasted talent fulfilled with pure loyalty. isagi surely knows he has soccer potential and could be a better version of himself and i'm pretty sure he does disappoint when they can't have a normal conversation (hope);

isagi: (plot) seen as the best player of all, an example, an inspiration, but ness sees him as someone he does want to become but just decided to ruin his reputation instead; to prove he's better and worthy (insecurity).
