Do you guys ever have a trip where you’re like “oh, yeah, I’m gonna have time to be online, no need for hiatus?” That was me this week, and I was very wrong. Thank goodness we have Admin Brenna! Unfortunately, I’m not quite back for replies yet because my laptop’s charging cord broke (I’m currently on my mom’s very slow laptop and lacking a lot of extensions, icons, passwords to accounts, etc). But I’m here if you want to send in any questions or apps, and your regularly scheduled replies from Meg and Carm will come soon! In the meantime, all you current members should totally get to know each other!
Is anyone else as excited as I am for the Mad Max blu-ray to be coming out soon? Ed was raised by his muggle mother, Trisha Elric, in the Irish countryside. His wizard father had left the family, but that didn’t stop Ed from showing signs of magic early on. He was performing nonverbal magic before he could form words. Then, the very year he recieved his Hogwarts Letter, Trisha fell mortally ill. She died before he could leave for the Hogwarts, and Ed was beyond grief. He began studying his father’s abundance of Dark Magic books, specifically in regards to Necromancy. The attempt to bring his mother back to lifeback fired horribly, though, and he lost his left leg in the aftermath. Family friends, the Rockbells, were gifted Healers and designed a fully functional prosthetic leg for him. He’s gotten pretty used to it over the years, though on his wearier days he sometimes uses a cane. Ed has a general mistrust of the Magical Community after knowing what can go wrong, and he fears the taint of Dark Magic will never leave his soul.
SAMPLE
Edward was laying atop the astronomy tower, having managed to climb it in spite of his false leg. He was basking in the heat of the day, an Arithmancy book shading his eyes from the sun. It was early in September, and the cold spell that would linger through March had not hit yet. There was nothing that pleased Ed more than a glorious view and solitary reading. Every few pages, he would set to book in his lap, sit up, and drink in the vistas of lake and forest and mountain before reclining and picking up where he’d left off.
After an hour or so, he noticed the dryness in his throat. The sunbeams absorbed into his blue robes, leaving him in a cocoon of heat. Still, the laziness of where he laid, supine against the tower’s turret, made moving a disagreeable option - especially with his uncooperative prosthetic. Frowning, he removed his wand from within his robes, pointing it at his mouth.
“Aguamenti,” he said, and the spurt of water hit his face. He opened his mouth and gulped several times before he realized someone was giggling. The stream of water stopped, and Ed turned his dripping face toward the sound.
“Shut up! I didn’t have enough time to open my mouth after - I SAID SHUT UP!” he shouted, face getting redder as the unidentified giggling intensified.

Cassie couldn’t have been more pleased when her Hogwarts letter arrived in the post. For one; it proved that she wasn’t going mental, like all her classmates said, but it also gave her a way to escape her home.
Growing up for Cassie hadn’t been easy. Her parents were incredibly liberal, and were in no way fit to look after themselves, never mind a child. The amount of nudity, sex and substance abuse Cassie was exposed to at a very young age left her with a very warped perspective on herself, her body, and the world around her. So, when the letter came, she jumped at the chance it was an opportunity to leave behind all the biting words of the popular girls in her class, as well as make a new home for herself, far away from her parents’ neglect.
Cassie’s first three years at Hogwarts went by, each fairly uneventful. Of couse, she was given grief because of her blood status, but she didn’t let it get to her, not outwardly, at least. She got (and lost) her first boyfriend, got her period for the first time, and even adopted a cat. She’d never been allowed one at home, but now that she was taking care of it herself, her parents said she could take it home come summer. What she didn’t know, was that her parents had an even bigger surprise than a cat waiting for her.
Her parents took care of her little brother much better than they ever took care of her, and it made her angry. So, Cassie acted out. She stopped eating, and by the end of the summer, everyone had to do what she said.
Three years later, Cassie’s life, whether at home for the holidays or at school, couldn’t be described as uneventful anymore. Her grades slipped, and with them so did she. On the contrary, she’s gained quite the reputation as Ravenclaw Tower’s resident “good time gal”. Known school-wide for always having access to the best of the best, when it came to drugs. Everybody knew her, for one reason or another. The girl with the big, big smile. The girl with the crazy eyes. Skinny, blonde, says wow a lot. The girl who never eats.
Guess who’s back, tags and lurkers? That’s right! Mod Jill has returned, wifi going strong and only a little worse for wear (I went OUTSIDE, you guys ... I’m currently nursing the worst sunburn). Bio: Carmilla has not bothered to keep track of how old she truly is, but she judges that she must have been around for at least a century. Her human life feels more like a dream to her now, but she remembers that born with the name Mircalla, and she lived a privileged life as the daughter of a wealthy pureblood family. However, on her seventeenth birthday, she was murdered, and brought back to life by a vampire woman. Mircalla took to calling this woman her “mother,” and the two spent many years exploring the world together.
The two vampires became loyal to Voldemort the first time he rose to power, and worked under him as Death Eaters during both wizarding wars. They were known, in particular, for being able to get victims for sacrifice and slaughter. Mircalla became an expert at befriending and seducing young muggle girls under the command of her mother, only to betray them when the time finally came.
However, towards the end of the First Wizarding War, she met Ell. Ell was a sweet, gentle muggle girl with a surprising amount of wit and determination. Mircalla found herself falling for the girl in spite of herself, and when the time came to lead her to her death, she couldn’t bring herself to. She tried to help Ell escape, but was foiled by her “mother” and the other Death Eaters. They revealed Mircalla’s true nature as a vampire to Ell, and the girl, confused and horrified, was easily murdered.
Mircalla began to go against the cause after this. When Voldemort was defeated by the infant Harry Potter, she worked behind the scenes, getting many of the Death Eaters sent to Askaban. When her mother found out about this, she was furious, and buried the girl in a coffin full of blood, intending for her to waste away for an eternity.
This sentence was cut short, however, when Voldemort rose to power the second time. A large battle unearthed her prison, and when her mother found out, she didn’t have the heart to bury her again. She decided to give Mircalla a second chance as a Death Eater, and while the girl agreed, she sabotaged many of the smaller plots. She didn’t have much interest in overthrowing Voldemort completely – morally, she wasn’t against what he was doing. She simply wanted to get a little revenge for Ell, in whatever way she could.
When Voldemort fell for the second and final time, there was chaos. Mircalla saw her opportunity and took it, fleeing from the scene of the final battle and her “mother.” For seventeen years, she lived in hiding, but then she became worried that her mother was getting too close to finding her. Knowing that she’d be punished for her actions, she sought sanctuary in the place where even Voldemort himself was defeated – Hogwarts.
As a private joke, she took the name Carmilla, the name of a well-known vampire in wizarding lore. She told the teachers at Hogwarts that she was a student from Durmstrang who was bitten by a vampire before her final year of education, and was not allowed to finish schooling because of her “dirtied” blood. A few well-placed (and, after so many years, well-practiced) Confundus charms made this believable enough, and now “Carmilla” is a student at Hogwarts. Some charms have been developed to help her with taking classes during the day, but she still cannot go out in direct sunlight. She doesn’t take schooling too seriously, however, and is mostly focused on hiding from her mother and the other Death Eaters who know her.
