RP starters: Injured/death
“Hey, you’re bleeding!”
“Can you move?”
“You will be fine, I promise..”
“Don’t you dare try to leave me. Not now.”
“Please get up.”
“I refuse to believe it will all end like this!”
“You won’t die, not on my watch!”
“Ouch.. that must hurt “
“What were you thinking?! You could’ve killed yourself!”
“I came too late..”
“You should’ve told me earlier.. I could’ve helped you!”
“I swear to god if you die on our way back I’ll kill you.”
“It’s nothing, just a scratch.”
“Look, no need to fuss over me. I’m fine!”
“Well, you see.. It’s a really long story. Will you help me or not?”
“I can’t make it.”
“I am dying. There is nothing you can do about it.”
“It’s not your fault, okay?”
“It just hurts… hurts so goddamn much.”
“Are you going to let me suffer more?”
“There is no happy ending to this.”
“I have been through worse…”
“I’m not going to lie, this is not how I planned this would go down.”
“They came out of nowhere.. I couldn’t react in time.”
“How bad does it look?”
“I knew this day would come.. sooner or later.”
CHARLOTTE.
Despite her typical behavior, Charlotte was strong, both in body and mind. Wandering through unfamiliar territory rendered her physically exhausted, possibly even more confused than initially, and absolutely sick and tired of this bullshit. The short explanation she had been given upon arriving was just enough to quell her anger; if she was dead, it couldn’t be helped. She had been a soldier, after all, and a border guard before that – hadn’t she signed up for this?
And despite the burning questions lingering in her mind, occupying nearly every thought, she managed to drag her still-armored feet to wherever they felt like taking her. If not her own strength of will, something was urging her to continue in this direction. The building Charlotte approached was some sort of housing accommodation, and likely where she would be living. If that was true, then perhaps rest would meet in her in her own quarters, if she could find them, and she could refresh herself for a new day.
The fighter breathed out as she braced herself to enter the building, her forward motion halted by the sudden appearance of a man exiting. Quickly altering her stance and softening her features came naturally to her, even in a place so foreign – especially when the man in question was as… er, built, as this one.
❝Hm, hm, don’t you feel it, too? Something was telling me I just had to come this way, you know. It’s like I was drawn to you!~ But now that I’ve seen you, I… think I might know why.❞
❝Eh, but you do seem a little upset. I wouldn’t want that! I can try my very best to make you feel better!~❞ It was hardly an attempt to replicate her usual mannerisms in the presence of men who exuded this much power. Though part of her knew that it was futile anyway, that none of her efforts would prove fruitful for their intended purpose… it was nearly impossible to cast aside the behavior she’d so delicately perfected over the years. For once, if it seemed as though she epitomized ignorance and had no idea what she meant to accomplish, it would be true.
❝Ah, but I almost forgot, didn’t I? How silly! My name is Charlotte.❞
despite his initial misgivings towards the mere presence of the unusually-clad woman at his doorstep, archer did notice that his aches and pains felt much less severe than they had mere moments ago. arms folded over darkened attire, a holdover from the apparent prior tenant in his suite - at least, such was his assumption. a small part of the eirei questioned whether or not his presence here was intentional, if he had been summoned here to right some sort of wrong, though considering the circumstances he felt it highly illogical.
(for one, who needed someone as fundamentally wrong as he to correct their own wrongs, when he failed to correct his own-)
paying little attention to the words themselves uttered by charlotte - he’d dismissed all but the name as mere drivel - he instead focused solely upon tone, and his mind drifted to memories far disjointed of any import. memories of the life he lived before his contract, and of the girl-turned-woman who anchored him as long as he lived. loud, certainly, yet he knew that her words - drivel they may have been - carried at least some genuine connotations.
though he could certainly do without the excessive honeying that charlotte laced into her words.
“ Charlotte, was it? Hmm... well, if it would keep you satisfied, I suppose you should know that I do feel somewhat less pained with your presence. ” perhaps this was some sort of power she held; such things were far from foreign to him, even in his prior life. still, it may have been mere coincidence - but nagging feelings within his accursed mind cast doubt upon that idea. “ You can merely call me Archer. I don’t imagine you’ll be needing to use the name much, since we likely won’t be speaking with enough regularity to hold other names close. ”
not to mention the sheer disdain he held for his name - one shared with a naive fool whose ideals ultimately drove him to ruin. he held no pity for that person; rather, contempt was all that archer could associate with his true name.
“ Tell me, Charlotte - where in the world have I been summoned to? ” first things first, he supposed. information would definitely help him in determining his next move from here - and perhaps his apparent partner would make their presence known. unless she already had.
@maxequerade summons.
the sensation simply would not cease.
ever since he awoke in this land unknown, archer’s entire form felt as if it were about to break down. his bones felt as rusted joints, creaking and aching with every move; his muscles felt torn in many spots, as if he had sections of himself torn out by a wild hound. a snarl is just barely withheld, teeth gritted and bared to perhaps visually indicate his own pain. he recalled some minor details told to him upon awakening, chief among them that he had a sort of partner within this realm.
he scoffed at that notion. after all, he had already met his end in the fifth grail war because of his so-called partner and her trust in an undeserving and worthless individual. what need did a false eirei have for a master in this land? from his perspective, he should not even be here, in what was only described to him as a sort of afterlife; a bastion for the few who were evidently deemed worthy.
(their selection process was flawed at best if someone as pitiful as him could slip through the cracks, even unwittingly)
exiting his given accommodations with a sigh, archer gazed out at the open space before him, far unlike what he had come to know of fuyuki city in his lifetime. the sole blemish on the landscape was a woman, blonde and dressed in a manner that nearly made the eirei turn his nose up in disgust. however, he was aware that perhaps there was a reason she made herself visible here, of all places, and the possibilities raced through his head.
one such notion stuck out among all others. and it elicited a dry chuckle from archer; surely the ones who were running this so-called afterlife were intent on playing a cruel joke upon him.
“ If you’re seeking someone in particular out, I suggest looking elsewhere. You’ve no business with me, I can assure you. ” and yet, archer remained steadfast in his position, rather than simply leaving the woman behind. he would prefer to simply shoo her away and be done with it.
