just a little push and you’ll be smiling;;
When faced with something as difficult as a realization within oneself, one may take a detour. Not precisely of the mind, per se, but within the heart? Most definitely.
[ Aoife began to weigh her options more than usual, and the only way that she could see herself going was down. So, of course, it was up to her to pick herself up. Take herself somewhere useful, do something worthwhile. She hadn't had those kind of thoughts-- well, ever. They were foreign and somewhat unwelcome, though there was no way around it. She had told the small amount of friends she had, including her girlfriend. Well, she supposed, now her ex. ]
--I'm going to get clean. Maybe even start an entirely new life.
[ The ghosts of her past and present would dissipate, she decided, though she knew in her heart of hearts that they never would. She wasn't going to make any rash decisions except for the ones already made. ]
Yes, I'm going to get clean. And it is going to hurt like hell.
[ Maybe that's what she needed. A whole new version of self-harm, though this one would end up making her better, hopefully, if all went well. The rubbing alcohol to both her physical and metaphorical wounds. Screw what everyone else thinks. Aoife was trying. She was. ]
[ The bus jolted to a stop as she slowly walked out of it, face to face to what her future might be. The rehabilitation center was one that Alex's counselor had suggested to her. ]
[ Her stomach flipped with last minute doubt and nerves, feeling a slight bit of remorse and regret from her decision. Though, she knew that she had already made it and all she needed to do was check in. ]
Isn't that how it works?
[ Before she knew it, she was in the double doors. No turning back now. She was going to have the courage that she thought that she had so lacked before. ]
Finally.
"'Lo. Uh, I believe I called earlier. Aoife Kingsley-Green."
