Daan Roosegaarde - Smart Highways | Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bicycle path

Smart Highways are interactive and sustainable roads of tomorrow by designer Daan Roosegaarde and Heijmans Infrastructure. The goal is to make smart roads by using light, energy and road signs that interact with the traffic situation. 

The recent Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bicycle path is made of thousands twinkling stones inspired by "Starry Night". The path combines innovation with cultural heritage in the city of Nuenen NL, the place where Van Gogh lived in 1883. View video here

AFTERGLOW - Lightsuit Segment

Presented by Philips TV and Atomic Skis Featuring: Pep Fujas, Eric Hjorleifson, Daron Rahlves, and Chris Benchetler

From the depth of the creative visuals to the groundbreaking, never-been-done-before scale of the shoot, Afterglow is being hailed as one of the most cinematically profound ski movies ever made. Deep pillows and Alaskan spines, all filmed at night, with massive lights, custom made LED suits, and a national governments worth of logistics, planning, and civil engineering.

Filmed as a partnership between Sweetgrass Productions, Philips TV, and the Swedish Agency Ahlstrand & Wållgren, it's two parts creativity, one part branded content, and a pinch of masochism for good measure. Overall, it's an incredibly unique partnership between our vision of skiing and the color and light technology behind the Philips Ambilight TV.

And from each new place we visit, we always bring home something to remind us of it. But how can we get a souvenir of a place that we’ve only visited in our imagination? That’s why we created “Impossible Magnets”, a series of magnets inspired by places we have been to only in movies, books, comics, videogames, mythology and even cartoons, all with an eye-catching visual identity and the same graphic consistency.

Barrie Tullett (UK) - Typewriter Art: A Modern Anthology

This beautiful book brings together some of the best examples by typewriter artists around the world. As well as key historical work from the Bauhaus, H. N. Werkman, and the concrete poets, there is art by contemporary practitioners, both typewriter artists who use the keyboard as a "palette" to create artworks, and artists/typographers using the form as a compositional device. The book will appeal to graphic designers, typographers, artists, and illustrators, and anyone fascinated by predigital technology.
