HMS Trincomalee (1817)
One of the most famous pirate ships, the flagship "Whydah Gally", owned by the richest pirate Sam Bellamy (Black Sam), which sank as a result of a shipwreck, was found in 1984.
A ship's bell was found, on which the ship's name "THE WHYDAH GALLY 1716" was cast.
Experts noted the incredible density of finds: pistols, sabers, cannon parts, thousands of coins, jewelry, ceramics. Sometimes the coins were mixed with the bones.
These treasures were recovered from the wreck of the pirate ship "Whydah Gally" off the coast of Cape Cod in 1717.
The objects are on display in the museum Real Pirates Salem in Salem, Massachusetts.
Ahoy! Welcome to the Real Pirates Museum in Salem, MA, home to the only verified pirate treasure in the world!
