Matching lampshade
A perfect addition to the room. Used up some remaining materials from the armchair. Handstitched in every detail. The fringe was a great addition to the original colour with an excellent length.

I painted a chair :) wahooo
I FOUND A SEWING MACHINE!!!! I've literally been looking for something like this my entire adult life. (For reference, I have a 17yo.) The machine is a White Rotary Model 75 from 1937. The lady I bought it from said it was bought brand new by her mother (along with the cabinet it sits in), and still runs great. I haven't tested it out for myself yet, but I've done a bit of poking around and so far everything looks good. I will do much more poking around before actually plugging it in and testing it. From what I've been able to research, these things give Singers a run for their money. It still has everything that came with it, plus a button holer. Now I just need a chair that's better suited for using at the cabinet, and my desk. I am currently refusing to buy anything first hand unless it's necessary to for some reason, so finding a chair will take some time and leg work. In the meantime, there are two other chairs elsewhere in the house I can potentially use at the machine.
This is all VERY exciting!
What a beautiful treasure.
It was just a frame.
This chair was just a frame when I got it. My first project, that inspired me to re-style the whole room.
Re-styling in progress
This poor old chair was collecting dust in the attic until the owner decided to throw it away. I stripped it back to base. Took me endless hours to remove the hundreds of tiny nails. Felt lucky to find the same colour of fabric as the paint.
Saved from landfill.
This beauty barely escaped the final trip to landfill. I wasn't able to replace the marble top that broke many years ago. But today this table is the centerpiece of the room.
