I'm home!
So lovely to be back home, back with my family, and back in my bed! Not so lovely to be back in the heat.
I suppose the end of my trip signals the end of my blog... :(
Bye bye blog and bye bye Europe - I'll be back soon!
xx
I'm on my way! Almost...
Boarding my flight to Dubai in 30minute! So excited! Then, TO SYDNEY.
These boots were (not) made for walking...! Genève, in all it's sunny 3 degree glory! Unfortunately the jet d'eau isn't running, and the flower clock is lacking in its flowers. But Geneva is still as lovely as ever!
Spending the morning in Geneva before I begin my journey back home this afternoon! I was on the hunt for breakfast, and I found it! Yay! Coffee + croissant + OJ = great way to start the day 😊
Raclette for dinner for my last night in Europe. Cheese? Check. Wine? Check. Woo!
Less than a week of my European Adventures to go! Eek! We arrived back in Switzerland on Sunday after a wonderful week in England. The plan for my last week is pretty relaxed - catch up with people, finish my Christmas shopping for people back in Aus, and play in the fresh snow!! Off to Les Pleiades for a walk and a picnic lunch this afternoon!! Snow, here I come!
Christmas in Cambridge: turkey, brussel sprouts, red cabbage, carrot mash, bread sauce, roast potatoes + parsnips, baby sausages, rolled bacon, and cranberry sauce. What a lovely day!!
Back en Suisse. Again.
So I did the calculations, and this is my 4th time returning to Switzerland in just over a month. Woohoo! It was a sad day, because it was my last day in Berlin. Berlin is my new favourite city in the whole entire world, tied with Dublin methinks. This morning I went to Gesundbrunnen Station and did an underground tour of a WWII bunker. Sadly we weren't allowed to take photos, but you'll just have to take my word for it - the tour was amazing. The combination of the bunker, the history, and the guide made the experience incredible. This afternoon I caught up on my souvenir shopping, and spent a large amount of time in the Ampelmann Shop. Ampelmann is my new favourite thing in the whole entire world. Look him up. He's pretty cool. Then, sad times, I made my way to the airport. To cheer me up, I found an Irish Pub and had a beer and a pretzel. Not a bad way to end my week in Berlin! Now I am on my way once more to Chez Daglish, but only for a short while. We fly to Cambridge on Monday to spend the week (and Christmas) with their extended family!
After this gigantic beer + 2 glasses of wine (courtesy of my new friends Jimmy (Melbourne, Australia) and Luke (Victoria, Canada)) I am off to bed. Obviously the only way to end my trip to Germany is with beer. So voila.
Spent my day at Sachenhausen Concentration Camp. Not sure what to think. Great historically-based visit. Terrible history.

Day 4 in Berlin
I am cold. I am wet. I am tired. I am sore all over. I am so happy! I had the best day out!! A visit to the Palace of Tears + a Bike Tour may not sound like much, but boy are you wrong. 1.5h at the Palace of Tears - 'hmm, not bad' you say. Palace of Tears = an old passport checkpoint at the Friedrichstraße station - now converted into a museum that shows life during the Cold War, specifically focusing on the life of civilians + the wall 5h on a Bike Tour - 'okay that's where the rest of her day went' you say. Bike Tour = all-in-one tour around Berlin, seeing the major sights, having lunch and glühwein at a Biergarten + being informed of Berlin's amazing history by an amazing Kiwi guide called Patrick Pretty busy day, and nice to be back in the Hostel warming up!!
