One of the men is fat and ends up not losing weight because he realises his body is actually attractive to a lot of women, including his wife, who is super hyped to see him strip

Includes a scene where the men are reading a magazine and commenting on the women inside, think about how the women in the audience may be judging them in the same way, and how crappy that would feel

Is set in the backdrop of the steel works closure of Sheffield, one of the many historic event the people of Yorkshire would never forgive the Tories for

a little ramble about writing under the cut

I started writing this fic almost two years ago. When I heard that @sepetajmikolikomehoces was writing a similar premise for the Bojere fanbook (go read RSVP it’s amazing), I decided to put it on the shelf for a bit (two cakes is awesome! but maybe there needs to be a little gap in between them if they’re this similar!).

It stayed on the shelf for quite a while. For the longest time, I didn’t think I’d be able to finish it. (The idea required too many words for me to handle! The romcom style wouldn’t carry! I don’t write longfics! Who cares about this stuff anymore! I can't make Conor the villain no matter how much certain people dare me to!) Still, I tinkered with it sometimes, but it was only when I pitched the idea to @pienimehilainen that it really took off in my mind. Thanks to her talent and enthusiasm, soon enough I had complete wedding visuals to draw inspiration from, plus the best sparring partner anyone could ever hope for <3

Still, it took over a year before I managed to really dig into it again. This past winter and spring I worked on it at my familiar, glacial pace of approximately 15 words at a time. I really thought I’d never finish. But Bojere week gave me the last push to get done the pieces that were still missing, and I was finally confident enough that I would indeed get the last words in place so I could start posting that week. 

And here we are! I doubt that I’ll get the motivation to write anything this long anymore. But I know that’s what I always say. I was very excited to share this with everyone. I’m very proud I did actually manage something this long (for me). Thank you everyone who's read it!
