Born October 6, 1908 – died on January 16, 1942. Carole was an American actress known for her off-beat comedic roles. In 1937, she married actor Clark Gable. In 1942, Carole, her mother and Clark Gable's publicist all died on the fateful TWA Flight 3 bound for Burbank, CA.

The plane crashed into a cliff on Potosio Mountain in Nevada. Carole was 33 years old at the time of her death.
