"Mhmm?" Seeing the concern in Quill's eyes told him all he needed to know. Message received.
"Oh! No wonde'a de pay was so good." Remy shrugs, shoving his cards back into his pocket and getting to his feet. He watches as the colour drains from the other man's face, all the while, the thief is grinning.
Before Quill can blow a gasket, he defuses the situation.
"Now don' be gettin' yo' draws in a tizzy, homme. De chaoui's got it," Remy comes to his side, patting the left of the blond's face, "Rocky."
What an elaborate ruse, but if he was able to cause a little trouble to get a buddy's point across, who was he to say no?

𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐒 𝐀 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐅. he thought for a moment that there was a seriously dangerous and powerful object in the hands of some 𝐍𝐄'𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐎 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐒 and he was going to be the sole reason to blame for it. Sure he might've skimped a bit on security , but he figured having it in his pocket would be way less of an obvious hiding place , as opposed to some super fortified , security measures.
