i think you should be allowed to cite scholars who are bad people but only if you put the word (oof) or (yikes) after their name
like Parker (yikes, 1989) or Obbink (big oof, 2007)
Freud (derogatory, 1923)

Extremely Untrustworthy Tea: The Flesh and The Hunt
I’m trying to group these by colour and style
Extremely Untrustworthy Tea: The Desolation and The Corruption
Extremely Untrustworthy Tea: The Vast and The Lonely
I decided to re-do these two because the originals weren’t vibin with me.
Fellas I understand we all agree that those edgelord idiots on twitter using the writing system of Amharic, a major language in Ethiopia, to pretend to be “satanic” are engaging in racism and anti-blackness by presenting African cultures as demonic, but like, please refrain from suddenly posting stuff like this?
This is just excusing ignorance through some weird form of wokified otherizing of Ethiopians. The predominant religions in Ethiopia are Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity and Islam (mostly Sunni), neither of which are closed belief systems. You can’t just assume “oh I bet they just have closed religious practices in Ethiopia that are not for white people” and then just use that as an excuse to not even google “religion in Ethiopia” because you de facto assumed that it’s Bad for you to educate yourself on African societies and culture. This is like taking the cultural appropriation discourse all the way to “even knowing about other peoples is wrong”. It’s bad.
Also, there are roughly 200,000 Ethiopian and Eritrean Jews worldwide (most relocated to Israel due to war and persecution in the 1980s, but some are still in Ethiopia/Eritrea, or other parts of the world), and this kind of bullshit the person in the image is spouting is part of how you get these stereotypes about what Jews look like, or about what Judaism even is (we’re an ethnoreligious group made of many localised sub-populations). And while Judaism is semi-closed in that you have to go through a rigorous conversion process in order to be accepted into the Jewish people, it’s certainly not off limits for people to learn about or join LOL.
#ethiopian people are not being secretive about their culture you’re just dumb

Clue: The Movie's multiple endings are fucking classic and i will stand by that fact until the day that i die, but hearing that they only played one ending each in the theatrical release is the funniest fucking thing ever. imagine seeing a great movie and going to talk about it with your friends/family/coworkers but none of you can agree on how it ended. and they did this in 1985, the absolute madmen

i hope more people do this in the future ❤️
My favourite part of the article is that they formed this project years before they were able to make it a reality, and in the meantime “each friend has made sure [to] specialize in an area that would benefit all of them when they moved in together—from cooking and growing vegetables to traditional Chinese medicine and playing music.”
