honestly new year means me doing a huge overhaul for this blog and by overhaul I mean gently moving it. It's a bit clogged here and I feel it'd do better doing a nice move and starting fresh with an updated doc or carrd for my muses & adding new muses I've been wanting to write

so as i slowly work to set up the new blog that this one will move to you can like this post & I'll follow you from it once I have it set up.

for the time being I'm going to be found most active on @chidoried and I peek into @writelives & @jinchuus from time to time too but kakashi is the brainrot i am not sorry. BUT, once new blog is set up, it's over for everyone.

HARD-TO-FIND HURT / COMFORT ACTION PROMPTS.

a selection of some of my favorite underrepresented situations and actions for one of my favorite tropes! feel free to add + REVERSE to any of the prompts to change the situation and provide context as necessary. do not add to this list.  

CRADLE : sender picks up the injured / unconscious receiver and holds them close to their chest, carrying them to safety. 

GUARDIAN : facing down a threat, sender pushes receiver back with an arm, moving to stand in front of them and protecting them with their own body.

TENDER : receiver wakes up to sender caressing them gently; a hand carding through their hair, brushing hair off their forehead, a hand on their cheek, a thumb swiping under their eye.

SHELTER : seeing a threat barreling toward them (such as a storm, the shockwave from an explosion, or a building they’re in collapsing), sender holds the injured / incapacitated receiver close, turning their back to the threat to bear the brunt of the impact instead of the receiver.

FLICKER : sender thinks they’re too late to save receiver and begins to mourn them / sinks in defeat and grief, holding them close, only to find through a simple action (a cough, a twitch of a hand, a murmured word) that they haven’t left them after all. 

DELIRIUM : receiver wakes up to sender’s relief, only for receiver to not believe it’s really sender (that they’re imagining sender or that they don’t think sender would come for them) or that they’re finally safe. 

CONCEAL : both muses have been injured or have fallen ill, though sender keeps their injury / illness secret in favor of taking care of receiver. however, as receiver gets better, sender’s injury / illness worsens from lack of care, and they wind up collapsing, their injury / illness fully revealed. 

GUIDE : sender has been injured, but their skills are needed to help with the muses’ current situation (an escape plan, tending a wound, or diffusing a weapon, for example). sender has to walk receiver through the procedure, all the while trying to stay conscious. 

SAVIOR : receiver is at the mercy of a threat, and all seems lost, only for sender to suddenly burst in and come to their rescue, bearing weapons and all the protective spirit they can muster, to the relief / confusion / anger of receiver. 

LAST RESORT : injured / sick and alone after an encounter with a threat or a run-in with a dangerous situation, sender finds themself at receiver’s door, coming to them because they have nowhere else to go.

Konan was an enigma to many; a deity to some. It was strange to stand before someone with such a persistent reputation at her heel. She provided for her people relentlessly & with benevolence, she did all she could to maintain peace. Yet, even the rain that lingered over her village could not entirely wash away her sins. There was a demand for retribution, revenge; one Kakashi could not afford to pander to if he wished to put an end to the cycle of violence that plagued the shinobi world. Konoha had done just as much damage to her home, if not more, & the only way to move forward was to talk. He had arranged a meeting with her, alone. They were at an inn on the edge of their shared border, the sort of place that could be easily missed by a passerby.

Now, they sit across from one another. Kakashi shifts stiffly in his seat, watching the steam wafting off of his tea. He had seen glimpses of her in the heat of the 4th shinobi war; it was much different, sitting across from her now. She had an ethereal air of power to her, emphasized by a weight that lingered just behind her gaze. He averts his eyes, understanding that her pain was righteous & holy. It wasn't for him to perceive, not yet.

" Maybe we should order a round of sake?" His words fall from his mouth after a long, uncomfortable silence. He usually left peace talks to Shikamaru; he was more socially apt, a better fit for these sorts of missions... but there were some things the Hokage had to do on his own, no matter the discomfort.

She hadn't imagined she'd ever find herself sitting across from the Hatake but things were peaceful now, or working towards that. The path to peace is not an easy path, there are so many ways to lose your way trying to do the right thing, to be blinded to the wrongs you are doing to get to the rights. Peace was not easy but this man before her, Hatake Kakashi and the other shinobi nations were pushing for peace as much as she was.

Peace was their reason of meeting, that was what found them here ready to speak on peace and what it brings to their homes. Amber eyes stay locked onto him, even as his gaze averts from her, even as the silence becomes uncomfortable between them. She eyes him, observes him, remembers the things she knows of the Hatake. He is a good choice for Konohagakure's Hokage, his intelligence in battle situations was off the charts and he had the natural leadership ability that was needed to lead a shinobi nation as large as Konohagakure. He was a good choice for a successor indeed.

❝ I am not opposed to sake. ❞ It was her own way of agreeing to his question at hand. Sake might take some of the awkwardness from the air perhaps, some of the uncomfortable silence could perhaps be broken easier with a round of sake, make things flow smoother.
