I am 29 years old, dreading my 30th year. I am an African American non binary femme nerd who probably peaked in college. I go by She/They, but I have answered to Xir/Xey before!
I'm a medical scribe in the ER, so I know everything and then some about the human body. I'm also a certified medical assistant, and I want to be a registered nurse who looks into brains.... weird, huh?
This blog is a coagulation of lesbian appreciation, sneeze kinking, and the Renaissance aesthetic... I swear, I tried. It feels nerve-wracking to suddenly go into Tumblr. It truly does. Then again, every social outlet is screwed for me, given that I'm neurodivergent, introverted, and just... well, a weirdo to every other weirdo.

Folks and friends, why is it that every time I post a non-binary character (specifically in Kei’s case bc they get a lot of bs) I always get confused cishet men (or at least what I assume they have to be) flooding my inbox
to the anon who said that pronouns 'ruin the vibe,' bet you forgot that tumblr now allows you to block specific anons! Have fun never seeing my content again :P
This page will never support homophobia or transphobia.

hello & welcome to another unhinged and entirely unsolicited edition of:
extremely snzfucker-coded plant species (Vol. II)
aka plants from around the world that are either onto us (or one of us)
please do not reblog to non-snz blogs // Minors DNI (18+ blog)
Hi, I'm Leni and i've previously posted the snzfucker's guide to the snziest plants and extremely snzfucker-coded plant species (Vol I). I study and work with plants so while I do generally know what I'm talking about, this post series is absolutely me indulging in some fun (but factual) shitposting so please take that with a grain of chhinkni salt should you so choose to read on.
In this post you'll be introduced to:
Western Pasqueflower (How dare it look like THAT)
Black Pepper (We all know her. We all love her.)
the Sneezewood Tree (Also featured in this post, for obvious reasons)
Green Bristlegrass (Special shoutout to @sleepysoftsnz for reminding me of this plant genus)
Traveller's Joy (More like snzfucker's joy, amiright???)
Spreading Snottygobble (...........Listen. I didn't name it, okay?!!)
Let's dive in!
Western Pasqueflower
First up we have Pulsatilla occidentalis, also known as the Western Pasqueflower which is a member of the buttercup family found in alpine meadows of western North America. The image on the right is what they look like when they're blooming, but the image on the left? That's actually the plant's dry fruit, or "seeds" (or more specifically, its achenes) which are described in botanical texts as "silky-plumose" or "soft-hairy" or "feathery." At the end of the season this flower has essentially transformed into a tiny, nostril-sized feather duster. Do with that imagery as you please.
Fun fact: Did you notice that even the leaves and stems of this plant are fuzzy? This is an alpine 'insulation' adaptation that allows this species to withstand the harsh conditions of its natural habitat by acting as a kind of 'fur coat' and trapping cold air when the plant is at its most vulnerable growing stage. This trapped air actually results in the surface of the leaves/stems being measurably warmer than the surrounding air.
snzfucker rating: 8.5/10. A solid 7.0 points on account of those feathery fuckers alone, plus a bonus 1.5 points because this is the flower equivalent of a character in a snzfic that gives the cold and sniffly character their jacket to warm them up.
Black Pepper
We all know her. We all love her: Here we have Piper nigrum. The fruit of this South Asian native plant contains a natural chemical known as piperine (yes it is named after the plant) which is believed to be the reason it's sternutatory (aka fancy word for sneeze-causing) in nature. I touch on this in more detail in this post, if you're curious as to the how/why). Curiously, there have been some interesting studies that indicate piperine itself may act as a mast cell stabilizer with anti-inflammatory/anti-allergenic effects. So the thing that makes you sneeze might...help you not sneeze??? Go figure.
Fun aside: I was at dinner with a friend once (and in her defense she was a little bit tipsy) and she turned to me halfway through seasoning her pasta and went "Wait…does pepper come from a plant?" I was like: "GIRL….WHAT THE HELL ELSE WOULD IT BE? IT'S PEPPER!" To which she replied "I DON'T KNOW! A MINERAL? LIKE SALT?" Which honestly, I shut up real quick because, yeah....fair point.
snzfucker rating: Obligatory lifetime service award of 10/10 because she has done so much (and continues to do so much) for our community.
Green Bristlegrass
Green Bristlegrass, or Setaria viridis, belongs to a genus known as the Bristle Grasses. There are over 100 different Setaria species across the globe, which share genetics and thus a similar resemblance. I think I mentioned in this in Vol 1, but honestly...sometimes you just come across a plant that just looks like it was evolved specifically for inducing. This is unequivocally one of them — and I mean, is that not the most tickly-looking mfer you've ever seen??? And the fact that it grows on a tall stem? PLEASE.
Fun fact: Several species of Setaria are considered to be highly invasive in North America, as they can grow rapidly, seed prolifically, and thrive in even the poorest of soil conditions, easily outcompeting other species.
snzfucker rating: 8/10. No notes.
Traveller's Joy
Next up we have Clematis brachiata: yet another flowering plant with seeds that are described as "feathery" and "silky appendages" that disperse in the wind. This plant also has traditional medicinal properties — parts of it can be brewed into a tea to ease cough and cold symptoms, among other ailments. Oh, and I almost forgot (jk, as if): when the fresh stem and tendrils are crushed, it produces a "pungent" scent that is said to clear the sinuses by inducing sneezing. So there you go. "Traveller's Joy?" Nahhh, this plant is a snzfucker's joy.
Fun fact: This plant is native to southern Africa, and it's common name is believed to be an ode to it's many medicinal properties - back in the days when travel was by foot, this plant was a welcome presence, as its crushed leaves were used to relieve aches and pains, blisters and sores.
snzfucker rating: 10/10. Truly a triple threat. Exceptional work on this one, Mother Nature. Exceptional work.
Sneezewood Tree
Did you know there's a tree that causes "violent sneezing" when its wood is sawed or sanded? NOW YOU KNOW!!!! The wood produces a natural oil that contains a chemical called nieshoutol, which has been described as "peppery" and "highly aromatic" and "irritating." Woodworkers who process the wood (either by sawing it or sanding it) are said to be struck with "violent" fits of sneezing. 👀 It has also been traditionally used as a snuff, and as an inhaled medicine to relieve headaches....ifyouknowwhatimean.
Fun fact: The wood of this tree is highly valued for its lumber which is imported across the globe, as it's extremely durable, rot-resistant, and repels insects.
snzfucker rating: 9.5/10. Guys. It's literally called SNEEZEWOOD. Like, hello?????
Spreading Snottygobble
Persoonia elliptica is one of several species of Snottygobbles — and yes, I did choose to specifically feature 'Spreading' Snottygobble, which is named on account of its growth habit (the term 'spreading' in botany generally refers to a plant that grows outward/horizontally as opposed to upright/vertical) and not, as it would suggest, anything to do with contagion.....but yes, we're all thinking it. This is the messfcker of the plant world.
Fun fact: Allegedly, the common name is derived from the mucousy inner flesh of the small green fruits this plant produces, which are evidently so delicious they are eagerly 'gobbled' up when ripe.
snzfucker rating: 6/10 on account of its slightly cursed name. I have nothing respectable to add here.
🍃🌸🌿
Once again, if you made it this far, I hope you enjoyed this stupid lil' post! Please feel free to reply or reblog with your thoughts and/or alternative ratings. I do have a few more plant-related posts in the works but always feel free to ask questions in the meantime. 🥰
I have been working on a few drabbles during my spare time. I've been obsessed with my district attorney OC and her wife lately. I wanna write a story featuring them so badly... I've been having writer's anxiety super hard, and I felt like you know, my writing sucked.
However, maybe a little push will help me actually complete the thing.
I’m starting up a chain of support for the amazing writers on snzblr!! If you’d like to participate, reblog this post with 1-5 fics FROM OTHERS (aka not ones you’ve written). Tag the author, link the fic, and tell us what you liked about it!!
Let’s appreciate our fellow writers and hype up some of the amazing stuff they make!!
"A secret agent is going undercover for a few days, and his target has a sneeze fetish. The agency’s best engineer has created something to give him an edge."
I absolutely adored this story, the hook, the way it's executed and poor agent's persistence. Great, now I have to go back and reread this! You've twisted my arm.
Force of Nature by @blooming-trees
I'm 💯 in love with Evelyn Reed. Absolutely owns my heart and you cannot change my mind. I love her ice queen arc and am excited to see her be thoroughly loved💛

omg heck yeah i love this idea! off the top of my head:
adult swim by @witchysniffles <- because this fic actually one of the hottest things i have ever read and I'm obsessed with these two and it's just SO GOOD and i've read it a normal amount of times thank you for asking
Horn by @lilies-and-hyacinths <- because the temperature in the car isn't the hottest thing in this fic let me tell you asdhfjlksd. I just. actually can't even pretend to be normal about how much I love this fic.
this one by @hhhyacinthgreen <- because it is so beautifully written + the perfect balance of fluff/angst + blanket burrito M/ulder means everything to me + S/cully's internal monologue is so spectacularly in-character here.
Force of Nature by @blooming-trees <- because Professor Reed is The Character of All Time, I've been obessed with her from day one and would fully get a whole degree in English Lit for her aldjfskjfh
When An Urban Nose Meets Southern Pollen by @buckysnose <- because not only are the snz spellings DELICIOUS in this fic, the line "your little urban nose" gave me actual BUTTERFLIES
Oh my God @heleniumx and @snezus-christ-risen , thank you so much for your mentions! 💖 I feel truly honoured (and you're on my list too, as it happens lol)
I have to reblog again with five of my fave fics on here - I need to go on a search because I tend to read fics I see while scrolling and think "I'll come back and leave a comment when I have more time to gather my thoughts properly" and then I promptly forget where I read it.😳🤭 (it has nothing to do with the authors, so please don't take it as an insult, it's just my brain being the way it is. I always think I'll remember and then I don't anyway).
Oh, imagine back in the day, the golden era of Hollywood, picture a lady who just got "discovered" and stars in films, but the poor woman is allergic to everything. Smoke (everyone smoked, she was probably supposed to smoke in the movie, and there was no such thing as fake cigarettes), flowers, animals, everything that was in a shot was actually there, in the shot. And messing up a take could be devastating. 👀
Or just when the transition from silent movies to talkies is in full swing, the pretty movie star catches a horrible cold and her voice is just shot. And she keeps sneezing. 😏
As you might have noticed, I've been quiet and slowly trying to come back. I have been working on bettering myself and getting a new job secured after the drama at the last one. I have a better work life balance with this job, and working nights is something I don't miss. Thank goodness.
I followed you and you're a minor or that you support anything on my no no list.
I will correct my mistake by removing it, deleting myself from your orbit (unfollow), or blocking. You aren't being rude by pointing it out. You help me become better.
I do not support AI or problematic idiots. I also don't follow minors or ageless people.
