Rey, a knight with no order, fights the Champion of Prumis in an attempt to seek her true heritage. Kylo Ren doesn’t take well to being challenged, much less lose. Lord Hux, regent of Primus and reigning ruler, also despises the event but relishes in the opportunity to gain a new knight.

Reylux drabble for @floatin-on-bespin​ who wanted a fist-fight

Warning: This is sad-sweet, just a heads up so you know what you’re getting into

The feel of his fist thudding into the other man’s chest is less satisfying then it should have been.

Hux takes the blow well, curving his body to absorb the brunt of it, snapping out his own fist in return. It glances off Ren’s shoulder as he struggles to dodge, caught back by the red-haired man’s speed.

“Where is she?” gasps Kylo, rubbing at the spot where knuckles rasped skin.

“She doesn’t want to see you yet,” Hux grits back, winded, but Kylo doesn’t understand. He’s never understood—all needy, grabbing hands and wanting. All impulse and heat. Molten iron that needs to be struck and struck again, hammered into useful shapes.

At the time, it was a delicious temptation that was all too much to pass – a chance to teach her and that man a lesson, but now…every day was a struggle and a nightmare to get through.

about kylo's collar: probably a shock collar and rey has the remote. this is 90% not a sex thing; he's scared of what he could be convinced to do if snoke ever completed his brainwashing, and he wants rey to have a way to disable him if he becomes too overwhelmed by the dark side of the force. he finds the fact that she could kill him if he tried to hurt her extremely grounded and reassuring. touching it makes him feel safe. - k

He’d grown so accustomed to the Finalizer, to living within its cavernous space, to letting the lack of sunlight whiten his already-pale skin, that he hadn’t even imagined what it would do to someone… to someone as fierce and independent and vivacious as Rey was.

jakku is such a commerce-based culture that its language probably has many posessive particles, and rey picks the most permanent one, defining posession as an inherent quality of both the object & the holder. - k

2) but also consider: rey giving kylo a stick & poke tattoo on the nape of his neck. amnesia and brainwashing is always a possibility but dermal regenerators have a hard time with weird herbal-based compounds

3) what if he just convinces rey to microchip him like a fuckin space puppy… “if found please return to rey" 

SHRIEKS ohhhhhhhh noooo the language thing and the tattoo thing and just… everything. like wow. this is so simple and perfect. maybe they would progress to the tattoo? or the microchip (lol) if kylo doesn’t feel like it’s enough? i wonder if rey and hux would just get rings– i’m not sure if that denotes too much of a difference between their relationship with him and their relationship to each other (that they’d be more husband-wife-y, and their relationship with ren is something different, more possessive?). i can definitely see hux wearing a ring, because it’s boring and conventional and pretty much everything hux is, but not rey. 

idk pretty much the only thing that matters is the idea of ren’s owned status being tattooed into his fucking skin. i’m just kinda in love with it
