Im honestly beguiled by the Tianzhuo Chen post I just shared. The way the body paint is so absurd and knows it but STILL its placement (like on the actual eye) tries to fool the viewer into thinking it’s real? That layering? It does something interesting. The actual expression, to the posing, to the colors and vibrancy that emphasize the abject drama being acted out.

UGHH I want paint this so bad. Like something in me feels so moved to recreate it? Or reference it?But

1. I don’t think this works with my current body of work. And I wanna make it BIG

2. If I just made it for myself I’d only wouldn’t wanna hang it in my soon apartment 😭.

3. What would it mean to recreate something this “nIChE” from another marginalized artist?

It’s kinda funny how far people will go to try to let you know they’re prejudice. Before my facial feminization surgery people would call me a girl as an insult. Now post surgery, they go out their way to say “sir, he, man, bro, brother” before I even open my mouth.

I got bored (even tho I have no business being bored rn with the paintings I gotta complete) and did this during a 2 day job search since I crashed my old job’s company car and got fired☺️, wasn’t even that dramatic tbr but I get it.

I did this spell where I got a box at a doughnut shop, whispered my anxiety and fears bout time into it and then drove to a marsh near me and set it on fire. I just try to remember the smell and the chalky soot left on my hands during times like these.
